View Full Version : Vishnu Pad in Mecca? (Harihareshwar Mahatmya)

Have you heard of the Harihareshwar Mahatmya?

In it is the shloka :

“Ekam padam gayâyâtu macâ yâtu dviteeyakam Triteeyam sthâpitam divyam muktyai shuklasya sannidhau”

"Lord Vishnu’s foot prints are enshrined in three sites in the world. Those holy places are Gaya, Mecca and Shukla tirtha."

So there is the mention of Maca (Mecca) ... I remember hearing about this decades ago, and there are some Internet sites discussing this but some are dubious but that does ot discount the shloka.

Any comments?


Below is the Vishnu Pad at Vishnupad Temple, in Gaya (note Chaitanya visited the Vishnu Pad... There is Pad Murthi in Kashni near Manikarneeka as well...)
