Namaste Satay, Moderators and fellow members of HDF.

After reading many threads on here lately, it has come to my attention that we can possibly delete and be better off without certain sub-fora on HDF.

1. Jalpa Forum.

We should encourage HDF members to focus on other aspects of our great forum like Meditation, Worship and be engaged in constructive debates on the Scriptures, rather than pointlessly arguing about things that cause animosity between members, resulting in locked threads and member banning.

2. Hot Topics.

*reasons as per above.

3. Universalism Forum.
http://www.hindudharmaforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=72

Satay has said a few times before that HDF is all about Hinduism and Hindu Dharma, so why does this forum even exist at all?

4. S.A.D.H.U.

Please either get this robot working again or delete the whole thing. Having it sitting there, broken is just distracting and makes the forum layout messy.

5. Abrahamic Religions (closed for posting).

If this forum is 'closed for posting' why keep it there? For everything else, see the reasoning presented in #3.

6. Politics/Current Issues.

Some may take me to task over this one, but I honestly believe that the discussion of political issues has no place on a Hindu religious forum.

It is said that 'religion and politics do not mix' and I fully agree with that.

Instead of the above, we should have a section for newcomers to Hinduism where we can give encouragement and guidance to assist 'Hindu newbies'.

We should have a section for member contributions like poetry, artwork, short stories, articles etc relating to Hinduism and their experiences in the religion.

We should have a section about learning Sanskrit.

My vision is for a more friendly and cohesive member base on here...to make HDF a place where we can share ideas and grow as a forum and within Hinduism.

I can see my ideas encouraging more members and current members to contribute more constructively and productively.

At the moment, we are down to about 20 regular members or so and I realise Satay prefers a smaller member base, but constant arguing and member bashing dwindles our population weekly.

We should expand a bit and spread the message of peace, acceptance and the philosophy/experience of Hinduism to a wider audience.

It's not like there are many Hindu Forums on the internet anyway.

We are the main Forum and it's sad to see it degenerate into such a state.

Thank you in advance for your time and patience in these matters and I wish you all well and happiness.

Aum Namah Shivaya
