Namaste my friends,

My local temple had a donated image of Krishna available, so I rescued it. The poor murti had glue on it and chipped paint with bad color. It has been a few weeks, and I have been painting it.

Here is how it looked originally (I added some silver to the bull):

And now it is finished:

I wish I could outline the eyes with black, but the murti is only 5" tall and I'm afraid to try.

Nice work, Anima!

I have some recommendations - feel free to toss them though =)

For the eyes, there is a brand of pens called "Microns" They come in size small to "holy moly I didn't know you could make a pen tip that small".

You can buy them from art supply stores and usually you can buy only one if you want to or a pack with various sizes. But for your purposes just going to the micron rack and picking out whatever size you need should do. I sometimes use these in paintings where I need a lot of small detail but don't have a brush small enough for the task.

Also, after the ink drys, I recommend putting a gloss coat over him so his shine matches that of his bull. This is also inexpensive and can be purchased at an art store in the acrylic paint section. Just ask a clerk for "Clear Acrylic Paint Gloss". (As long as you didn't use oils to paint him this will work. A few coats should bring up the shine enough, but let each layer dry complete before adding a new one.

Hope this helps!

Shanti

PS. Thank you for repainting the eyes. The lack of symmetry on the original made me cringe.:D
