Namskar Mitra/Gurujana,

Hello Again,I am a follower of Goddess Durga. But I want to learn more about Maa Shakti.I mean to say about all the things that Shakti represents.

I want to know about all the Scriptures that elaborate about Shakti that is Maa Durga and everything.About the Mahavidyas,Matrikas and more.

So Which Scriptures should I read to learn about the above? It would be of great help if the learned ones can help me...

Dhanyavad

Namaste.

The central scriptures of Shakti Worship are the Devi Bhagavatam (also called Bhagavata Purana) and the Devi Mahatmya (also called Durga Saptashati) which is a part of Markandeya Purana.

Other important texts are the Kalika Purana, Lalita Sahasranama and Soundarya Lahari (composed by Adi Shankaracharya).

Pranams.

Hello well just like yourself i am a devotee of the universal mother.

I fast on fridays for Durga Maa.

One must wake up early and bathe themselves before praying to maa.

Here is a great mantra to represent the mother

1)
Sarva Mangala Mangalye
Shive Sarvartha Sadhike
Sharanye Tryambake Gauri
Narayani Namostute
Narayani Namostute
Narayani Namostute

2)
Om Girijayei Vidmahe
Shiva Priyayei Dhimahi
Tanno Durga Prachodayat

3)
Om Sri Kathyayanaya vithmahe
Kanyakumaryai theemahi
thanno Durge prachothayath

Also my favorites the Durga Chalisa, Devi Suktam, and Durga Aarti

There is solo much to know about Jagadamba Mata if you have anymore questions i will be glad to answer them.

Thank You

Namaste,

I must apologize for not being as active here, but much thanks
for the answers already given; it is always good to see both people
wanting to know more about Devi, and people who are able to help :)
