Hari Bol!
All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga!

Can anyone shed some light on the Ancient warriors of India, more specifically those that fought in the Mahabharata, if it is anywhere described, the military organisation and type of military soldiers .i.e. The Pandavas only bought horse archers :P (and still lost) and can someone please tell me the generals in command as well, i think this is the right place to post a question like this.

Thank you,

Jai Sri Radhe-Syam!

Namaste ji,

Chapter one of the Bhagavad Geeta has most of the names of the warriors.

You could read it to get more info.

why 18 ?
18 parvan-s ( or books or divisions) in the mahābhārata¹ , there are 18 armies, the war is fought for 18 days, the bhāgavad gītā is also made up of 18 chapters.
