Namaste Eastern Mind Ji,

Before taking the path of Sri Vaishnavism, I had been to three of the six sacred temples.

Before the end of year 2015, I have plans to visit many temples. I feel indebted to a list of deities and should pay my respect before parting ways. It is a conscious decision taken in the last couple of weeks.

Murgan Temples remind me a beautiful temple (mostly unheard of) that took me closer to Him.

To begin the process, I will be either visiting Kokki Subramanya OR Kolanjiappar OR Tiruchendur Murugan temple soon. I will share the pictures with the forum after my return.

Hope my friend Shree Raama Chandra Prabhu and the respective deity (I am going to visit) will help me to carry out my duties without any hindrance.

Vannakkam: Then have a rewarding pilgrimage. Other than the 6 ones of Arapadaveedu fame, the one I remember best is at Kundrakudi, near the famous rock temple of Pillaiyarpatti.

But being a Murugan bhaktar, they're all great for me. Tiruchendur was probably best for people watching, and of course there is the early morning sea breeze. After taking darshan, we'd just sit on the side closest to the ocean and enjoy the moment, in His bliss.

Thank you... I haven't visited Kundrakkudi and Pillaiyaar patti.

Thiruchendur attracts me because of the Sea, Nazhik Kinaru and the temple construction. I respect the temple customs, especially the bare chested visit.

Its been years, so I am not sure if the practise is still followed.

It creates a sense of humility and reminds us our "reality" in front of Him.

The best part of visiting temple are the sculptures. Even with the advancement of scientific appliances, We stand no way near to the dedication and their pure Bhakthi.

Vannakkam: Yes the practice is still followed. (Unless something has changed in the last 3 years, which I highly doubt.)
