Namaste,

I read a recent post - a gem to get to know about how the British East India Company finds its roots in India. The main fact gleaned from the lengthy article is that such a thing happened only with the help of naive Indians of olden times - that the entire Madras shoreline was written-off to a certain British man 'Francis Day' by Vijayanagara kings 'Thimmanna' and 'Appayya Naik'.

The article is someone's (who I only follow) FB page and I will give the link via PM only and it is in Tamil.

Thanks,

Viraja

Namaste Viraja,

I have a book that is on my list to read in the future, "The Scandal of Empire" by Nicholas B. Dirks.

Namaste deafAncient,

There is a good possibility the source I'm citing is an excerpt really from this book you're speaking of. I believe it will make a good reading. Thanks for the information.

Pranam.
