I too select better beetle leaves, flowers etc for the pooja purpose but our interest and dedication is exploited by the vendors. If i can't afford a particular quality (i didn't mean stale) will God be unhappy?
Medicinal values of Rudraksha won't be present in fake products but too much emphasize on purity leads to artificial price rise and an invitation to loot devotees.

Please don't get me wrong. One can meditate or get the same level of grace from God even if you offer just water or leaves with a pure intention.
