Namaste,
Was wondering if somebody could guide me regarding the process of selecting a baby's name in Hinduism.
Was told that it involves the time of birth;but in the U.S it gets a little tricky, given that a baby's name should be registered immediately after birth and consulting a priest takes time.
Any advice from the esteemed members?
Thanks

Namaste,
My brother just had a daugther two weeks ago. Yes, you have to register the name of the baby right away but talking to the temple pujari was just a phone call away. He needed to know the exact time of birth, date, place etc. and suggested a first word that should be her name.

:)

satay as in 'chicken satay' which used to be my favourite food in a previous life.

I like 'tarka' so satay is for that...
