Namaste,

today, Monday, 6th of August, Guru (Jupiter, Brihaspati) begins its forward journey, from being retrograde for some months now. Guru has been in Scorpio, the natrual 8th house ( Moksha bhava). Forward motion begins at ~ 17:35 CST. 1:35 GMT ( or Aug 7th); The forward Motion starts @ 15°:57':53" Scorpio.

Ref for GMT and your local time: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

Guru remains in Scorpio until the 21st of November 2007. Then on to Sagattarius, the Natural 9th house, and home of Guru. More to be written on Guru in a Dharma (agni tattva) bhava. Very auspicious.

Namaste Yajvan.

In Maha Kavi (Poet) Kalida's opinion, any planet which is in retrograde position will give the effect of exaltation.

Namaste Arvind,
This could be as I have not read his works. From my teachings there are caveats to this notion as it is not a standing rule on retrograde. Other conditions need to be met. This post below outlines a few. I only mention as few as the rules get 'thicker' for neeca, trine, kendra, exalted positions, then need to be matched in D30 and D60 charts. Something the HDF reader does not encounter daily. Some conditions then inform the jyotisha of past birth actions that are brought forward to this birth. http://www.hindudharmaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1797

Retrograde in the birth chart, vs. transits are also different, but lets leave that for another post

thank you for your note...
