Om Shirdi Sai Ram.
Namaste.

Aswini - Nakshatra
Symbol-
horse’s head
Deity -
Ashwini Kumaras the horse headed twins who, as physicians to the gods, perform medical miracles
Stars
El Sharatan, the horn of the Ram. Its qualities are violent, outspoken, and brazen
Mythology -
Sanjna is the name of the goddess who disguised herself as a horse and fled from her husband because he betrayed her. He caught up with her, and their offspring produced the Ashwini Kumaras, the horse-headed twins. Each day the twins bring the dawn as their chariot speeds through the sky
Indications -
The "star of transport," they are pioneers, explorers, always ready to try something new. They have zeal, and a zest for life. Heroic and very courageous, some will want to join the armed forces. Their restless and impatient nature has them rushing off quickly without planning ahead. Speed, not efficiency, is their preference. Their speech may be quick and halting, possibly stuttering, for the words can’t match the speed of their thoughts. They are the true trailblazers, headstrong and stubborn. As the symbol for new beginnings, they can represent a baby who goes after what it wants, not considering the inconveniences to others. They can be childish, irresponsible and inconsiderate. Ashwini rules all forms of transportation and fast travel. They are probably known for getting speeding tickets. Healers performing miracle healings are one of Ashwini’s gifts.

Namaste Arvind (et.al)

thank you for your post on this nakshatra... This nakshatra is the very 1st in the Bha chakra ( zodiac) it starts at 0°00'00" and runs to 13°20'00".

We know the Aswini Kumaras as the अश्विन् aśvins. As you mention the horse headed, or ashvah, asvins. In the Veda the ashvah are symbols of life-energy and power.

The notion of the horse headed asvins is part of the madhu (honey) vidya on how the asvins received this knowledge.

Also it's interesting to note that this nakshatra is owned by ketu, in the sign [Aries] owned by Mars, and the Sun is exalted in this nakshatra under the influence of Moksha-karaka ketu. This rasi is a Dharma house with its agni influnce of Mars and Sun's exalted location... and with sun, we know it brings heath as it is related to the 1st house, Tanu, that of the body. Any ones 1st house has the sun as a karaka.

We know too that the asvins are the divine physicians. In the Rig Veda they are called madhuman (RV 4.45.1) full of madhu they honey that was mentioned earlier. There's about ~ 50 suktas that address the asvins in the Rig Veda.

They bring this delight, so at times that are also called shubhaspati or the gods/guardians of bliss ;healers & they bring delight! Soma is also associated with this delight.

They also are called nasatyas, or the leaders of movement - this energy principle, yet applied to higher ideals of mankind - nobility in actions, self-sacrifice, urges for beauty and harmony and the capacity for courage.

just some ideas...thxc for your posting here.

pranams,
