Namaste all.
In the west the religion is a so "modernized" thing that there are several Hare Krsna hard rock, heavy metal, trash, etc
bands. There is even a christian heavy metal band:P.O.D
The tracks of their CD are "hard rock bhajans".:D
Iron Maiden is one of the best and most famous band.It is my favourite musical band.Iron Maiden is not a christian heavy metal band.It does common heavy metal music. However in 1983 it made a religious song called "Revelations" in the album "Piece of mind".

Revelations
===========

"O God of Earth and Altar,
Bow down and hear our cry,
Our earthly rulers falter,
Our people drift and die,
The walls of gold entomb us,
The swords of scorn divide,
Take not thy thunder from us,
But take away our pride."
(G.K. Chesterton: English Hymnal)

Just a babe in the black abyss,
No reason for a place like this,
The walls are cold and souls cry out in pain,
An easy way for the blind to go,
A clever path for the fools who know
The secret of the Hanged Man - the smile of his lips.

The light of the Blind - you'll see,
The venom that tears my spine,
The Eyes of the Nile are opening - you'll see.

She came to me with a serpent's kiss,
As the Eye of the Sun rose on her lips,
Moonlight catches silver tears I cry,
So we lay in a black embrace,
And the Seed is sown in a holy place
And I watched, and I waited for the Dawn.

The light of the Blind - you'll see,
The venom that tears my spine,
The Eyes of the Nile are opening - you'll see.

Bind all of us together,
Ablaze with Hope and Free,
No storm or heavy weather
Will rock the boat you'll see.
The time has come to close your eyes
And still the wind and rain,
For the one who will be King
Is the Watcher in the Ring.
It is You.

I don't know if P.O.D. is the only christian heavy metal band. However if there are some others,it is the most famous.
The following song is taken from the album "Payable On Death".Note that Jah means God.
http://www.bongonews.com/StoryImages/pod_album.jpg
"Freedom Fighters"

Today I heard what them people say
Dem want to live free greedily, with everyone to pay.
You play under the sun while others fight and dies away
but I say if you don't like it this way, then why stay? Go away

Freedom Fighters
Ignite Jah
Freedom Fighters
Shine Jah

Live free, Be free, Die free
Freedom Fighters
Live free, Be free, Die free
Ignite Jah
Live free, Be free, Die free
Freedom Fighters
Live free, Be free, Die free
Shine Jah

Today I heard what them people say
Them say "The Man came in and he took our choice away"
You portray selfishness and hate
While some prepare to die today
I say you fade away, appreciate life and liberate

Freedom Fighters
Ignite Jah
Freedom Fighters
Shine Jah

Live free, Be free, Die free
Freedom Fighters
Live free, Be free, Die free
Ignite Jah
Live free, Be free, Die free
Freedom Fighters
Live free, Be free, Die free
Shine Jah

We have the right - to live in peace
and you must fight - for what you keep
If what you keep - holds truth inside
Stand up, defend - lay down and die

We have the right to live in peace
You must fight for what you keep
If what you keep holds truth inside
Stand up, defend, or lay down and die

Freedom Fighters
Ignite Jah
Freedom Fighters
Shine Jah

Live free, Be free, Die free
Freedom Fighters
Live free, Be free, Die free
Ignite Jah
Live free, Be free, Die free
Freedom Fighters
Live free, Be free, Die free
Shine Jah

Live free, Be free
Jah say live free
Jah say die free
Live free, Jah say die free
Live free, Jah say be free
I and I, Live free
I and I, Die free

Stand up, defend or lay down and die
Stand up, defend or lay down and die
Stand up, defend or lay down and die
Stand up, defend or lay down and die

What do you think about that?

Ronnie James Deo is a favorite ... and it was Led Zepplin which led me to Western tradition occultism.

Music, I think, like all art ... expresses what cannot be entirely spoken.

I like very much the song You Can't Kill Rock and Roll. This song belongs to an album of Ozzy Osbourne.
http://www.toplookalikes.co.uk/Ozzy.jpg
The album is Diary of a madman
http://www.rockdetector.com/assets/img/covers/25142.jpg.

The following is the text of the song:
How many times can they fill me with lies
And I listen, again
Twisting the truth
And they're playin' around with my head O.K.
The things they will do
And the things they will say
but they don't really understand
Tears fill my eyes when I hear all the cries
For the reason today

And they don't really know
Even what they're talkin' about
And I can't imagine what empty heads can achieve.

Leave me alone
Don't want your promises no more
'Cause rock'n'roll is my religion and my love
Won't ever change,
May think it's strange
You can't kill rock'n'roll
It's here to stay.

Looking through eyes of time
Mirrors reflecting their
stories untrue
Promises promises,
Telling me all of my glories overdue.
How many times have I heard it before
And I'll probably hear it again
King of a thousand knights,
Pawn in a table fight Losing to you.

And they don't really know
Even what they're talkin' about
And I can't imagine what empty heads can achieve.

Leave me alone
Don't want your promises no more
'Cause rock'n'roll is my religion and my law
Won't ever change,
May think it's strange
You can't kill rock'n'roll it's here to stay.

Even the rhymes that they give me in times of confession
ain't true
Outcome is obvious
All for them none for us meaning you too

The things they will do
And the things they will say
When they don't really understand
Fear of rejection I need their protection
I'm making a stand

And they don't really know
Even what they're talkin' about
And I can't imagine what empty heads can achieve.

Leave me alone
Don't want your promises no more
'Cause rock'n'roll is my religion and my law
Won't ever change,
May think it's strange
You can't kill rock'n'roll it's here to stay

Leave me alone
Don't want your promises no more
'Cause rock'n'roll is my religion and my law
Won't ever change,
May think it's strange
I'm forced to rock n role, guide me through the day

ahh, grew up on Maiden, Dio, Sabbath, Metallica...

One of my favorite newer bands is Tool (actually, they aren't that new). The band is heavy into esoterism, and their lyrics reflect their spiritual interests.

Twirling round with this familiar parable.

Spinning, weaving round each new experience.

Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this chance to be
alive and breathing.

This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.

Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal.

All this pain is an illusion.

Dio ~ Sacred Heart

The old ones speak of winter
The young ones praise the sun
And time just slips away

Running into nowhere
Turning like a wheel
And a year becomes a day

Whenever we dream
That's when we fly
So here is a dream
For just you and I

We'll find the Sacred Heart
Somewhere bleeding in the night
Look for the light
And find the Sacred Heart

Here we see the wizard
Staring through the glass
And he's pointing right at you

You can see tomorrow
The answer and the lie
And the things you've got to do

Oh, sometimes you never fall
And ah - You're the lucky one
But oh - Sometimes you want it all
You've got to reach for the sun

And find the Sacred Heart
Somewhere bleeding in the night
Oh look to the light
You fight to kill the dragon
And bargain with the beast
And sail into a sight

You run along the rainbow
And never leave the ground
And still you don't know why

Whenever you dream
You're holding the key
It opens the door
To let you be free

And find the Sacred Heart
Somewhere bleeding in the night
Run for the light
And you'll find the Sacred Heart

A shout comes from the wizard
The sky begins to crack
And he's looking right at you - Quick
Run along the rainbow
Before it turns to black - Attack

I've never seen Christian music go with rock music...Creed was okay, but really rock music has been labeled as the Devil's music. :p

There are some songs I like that are somewhat religous are:

The God That Failed: by Metallica

http://www.thegauntlet.com/pics/metallica-band.jpg

http://lyrics.rockmagic.net/img/b.gif
Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you'd kneel

Not the word
Not the love
Not what you thought from above

It feeds
It grows
It clouds all that you will know
Deceit
Deceive
Decide just what you believe

I see faith in your eyes
Never your hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

Find your peace
Find your say
Find the smooth road in your way

Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave

It feeds
It grows
It clouds all that you will know
Deceit
Deceive
Decide just what you believe

I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

I see faith in your eyes
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you'd kneel

Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave

I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by deepened nail

Follow the God that failed_______________________________________________________

"VooDoo": by Godsmck

http://www.danceage.com/gallery/data/media/792/godsmack-y-18.jpg

[Chorus:]
I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snake bite enter my veins
Never did I wanna be here again
And I don't remember why I came

Candles raise my desire
Why I'm so far away
No more meaning to my life
No more reason to stay
Freezing feeling,
Breathe in, breathe in
I'm coming back again

[Chorus]

Hazing clouds rain on my head
Empty thoughts fill my ears
Find my shade by the moon light
Why my thoughts aren't so clear
Demons dreaming
Breathe in, breathe in
I'm coming back again

[Chorus x4]

Voodoo, voodoo, voodoo, voodoo.
[Repeat]

So far away...
I'm not the one who's so far away...
I'm not the one who's so far away...
I'm not the one who's so far away...

"Prayer": by Disturbed

http://www.concertlivewire.com/jpegs/interviews/disturbed.jpg

Another dream that will never come true
Just to compliment your sorrow
Another life that I've taken from you
A gift to add on to your pain and suffering
Another truth you can never believe
Has crippled you completely
All the cries you're beginning to hear
Trapped in your mind, and the sound is deafening

Let me enlighten you
This is the way I pray

[Chorus:]
Living just isn't hard enough
Burn me alive, inside
Living my life's not hard enough
Take everything away

Another nightmare about to come true
Will manifest tomorrow
Another love that I've taken from you
Lost in time, on the edge of suffering
Another taste of the evil I breed
Will level you completely
Bring to life everything that you fear
Live in the dark, and the world is threatening

Let me enlighten you
This is the way i pray

[Chorus]

Return to me, return to me, return to me, turn to me, leave me no one
Turn to me, return to me, return to me, turn to me, cast aside
Return to me, return to me, return to me, turn to me, leave me no one
Turn to me, return to me, return to me, you've made me turn away

[Chorus Variant:]
Living just isn't hard enough
Burn me alive, inside
Living my life's not hard enough,
They take everything from you

[Chorus]

Artist/Band - Guns N' Roses
Album - Use Your Illusion II
Song - Breakdown

We all come in from the cold, we come down from the wire
And everybody warms themselves to a different fire
When sometimes we get burned, You'd think sometime we'd learn
The one you love is the one That should take you higher
You ain't got no one You better go back out and find her

Just like children hiding in a closet, Can't tell what's going on outside,
Sometimes we're so far off the beaten track, we'll get taken for a ride,
By a parlor trick or some words of wit, a hidden hand up a sleeve,
To think the one you love could hurt you now is a little hard to believe,
But everybody, darling, sometimes bites the hand that feeds,

Ow,

When I look around, everybody always brings me down,
Well is it them or me, well I just can't see but there ain't no peace to be found,
But if someone really cared, well they'd take the time to spare,
A moment to try and understand another one's despair,
Remember in this game we call life that no one said it's fair,

BREAKDOWN - Let me hear it now,
BREAKDOWN - let me hear it now, yeah,
BREAKDOWN - Let me hear it now,
BREAKDOWN - let me hear it now
Get down with your bad self,
Alright,

(Guitar Solo)

I've come to know the cold, I think of it as home,
When there ain't enough of me to go around I'd rather be left alone,
But if I call you out of habit, I'm outta love and I gotta have it,
Would you give it to me if I fit your needs like when we both knew we had it,
But now the damage's done and we're back out on the run,
Fun how everything was roses when we held onto the guns,
But just because you're winning don't mean you're the lucky ones,

BREAKDOWN - Let me hear it now,
BREAKDOWN - Yeah,
BREAKDOWN,
BREAKDOWN - let me hear it now,

(Guitar Solo)

"There goes the challenger
being chased by the blue blue meanies on wheels.
The vicious traffic squad cars are after our lone driver.
The last American hero.
The, the electric sintar.
The demi God,
The super driver of the golden west,
Two nasty Nazi cars are close behind the beautiful lone driver,
The police cars are getting closer, closer...,
Closer to our soul hero in his soul mobile, yeah baby,
They about to strike, they gonna get him,
Smash, rape,
The last beautiful free soul on this planet."

"But... it is writen if the Evil Spirit arms the Tiger with claws,
Brahman provided wings for the Dove,
Thus spake the Super Guru."

Tales from Topographic Oceans
by Yes (Anderson, Howe, Squire, Wakeman, & White)

I. The Revealing Science of God

Dawn of light lying between a silence and sold sources,
Chased amid fusions of wonder, in moments hardly seen forgotten,
Coloured in pastures of chance dancing leaves cast spells of challenge,
Amused but real in thought, we fled from the sea whole.

Dawn of thought transferred through moments of days under searching earth
Revealing corridors of time provoking memories, disjointed but with purpose,
Craving penetrations offer links with the self instructors sharp
And tender love as we took to the air, a picture of distance.

Dawn of our power we amuse redescending as fast as misused
Expression, as only to teach love as to reveal passion chasing
Late into corners, and we danced from the ocean.

Dawn of love sent within us colours of awakening among the many
Won't to follow, only tunes of a different age.
As the links span our endless caresses for the freedom of life everlasting.

Talk to the sunlight caller
Soft summer mover distance mine.

Called out a tune but I never saw the face
Heard but not replaced,
I ventured to talk, but I never lost my place.
Cast out a spell rendered for the light of day
Lost in lights array,
I ventured to see, as the sound began to play.

What happened to this song we once knew so well?
Signed promise for moments caught within the spell,
I must have waited all my life for this
Moment moment.

The future poised with the splendour just begun
The light we were as one
And crowded through the curtains of liquid into sun.

And for a moment when our world had filled the skies
Magic turned our eyes
To feast on the treasure set for our strange device.

What happened to wonders we once knew so well?
Did we forget what happened surely we can tell?
We must have waited all our lives for this
Moment moment moment.

Starlight, movement, reasons
Release forward
Tallest rainbow
Sun shower seasons
Life flower reasons.

They move fast, they tell me,
But I just can't believe that I can feel it.
There's someone to tell you,
Amid the challenge we look around in unison with you.

Getting over overhanging trees
Let them rape the forest,
Thoughts would send our fusion
Clearly to be home.

Getting over wars we do not mean
Or so it seems so clearly
Sheltered with our passion
Clearly to be home.

They move fast, they tell me,
But I just can't believe they really mean to,
There's someone, to tell you,
And I just can't believe our song will leave you.

Skyline teacher
Warland seeker
Send out poison
Cast iron leader.

And through the rhythm of moving slowly
Sent through the rhythm work out the story
Move over glory to sons of old fighters past.

Young christians see it from the beginning
Old people feel it, that's what they're saying.
Move over glory to sons of old fighters past.

They move fast, they tell me,
But I just can't believe they really mean to.
There's someone, to tell you
A course towards a universal season.

Getting over overhanging trees
Let them rape the forest,
They might stand and leave them
Clearly to be home.

Getting over wars we do not mean
We charm the movement suffers,
Call out all our memories
Clearly to be home.

We've moved fast
We need love
A part we offer is our only freedom.

What happened to this song we once knew so well?
Signed promise for moments caught within the spell,
We must have waited all our lives for this
Moment moment.

Past present movers moments we'll process the future, but only through him we know, send flowered rainbows
Apiece apart chased flowers of the dark and lights of songs to follow and show all we feel for and know of
Cast round
You seekers of the truth accepting that reason will relive and breath and hope and chase and love
For you and you and you.

II. The Remembering: High the Memory

As the silence of seasons on we relive abridge sails afloat
As to call light the soul shall sing of the velvet sailors course on
Of the velvet sailors course on
Shine or moons send me memories trail over days of forgotten tales
Course the compass to offer into a time that we've all seen on
Into a time that we've all seen on

High the memory carry on
While the moments start to linger
Sail away among your dreams
The strength regains us in between our time
The strength regains us in between our time
As we shall speak to differ also the ends meet the river's son
So the ends meet the river's son

Ours the story shall we carry on
And search the forest of the sun
We dream as we dream! Dream as one
And I do think very well
That the song might take you silently
They move fast
They tell me
There's someone rainbow
Alternate tune

In the days of summers so long
We danced as evenings sang their song
We wander out the days so long
And I do feel very well
That the evenings take you
Silently. They move round
Sunlight, seeing ground
Whispers of clay
Alternate ways

Softer messages bringing light to a truth long forgotten on
As we shall speak to differ also the ends meet the river's son
So the ends meet the river's son

I reach over and the fruit of life stands still
Stand awhile we search our past we start anew
The music sings of love you knew
We walk around the story
Out in the city running free
Sands of companions sides that be
The strength of the meeting lies with you
Wait all the more regard your past
School gates remind us of our class
Chase all confusion away with us

Stand on hills of long forgotten yesterdays
Pass amongst your memories told returning ways
As certain as we walk today
We walk around the story
Out in the city running free
Days pass as seconds turn they key
The strength of the moment lies with you

Don the cap and close your eyes imagine all the glorious challenge
Iron metal cast to others
Distant drums

Force the bit between the mouth of freedom didn't we learn to fly
Remember to sail the skies
Distant suns
Will we reach
Winds allow
Other skylines
Other skylines to hold you

Relayer
All the dying cried before you
Relayer
We've rejoiced in all their meaining
Relayer
We advance we retrace our stories

Like a dreamer all our lives are only lost begotten changes
We relive in seagull's pages
Outwards ways.

Things are all in colours and the size of others shall send you forward
Arranged to sail you toward
A peace of mind
Will we reach
Winds allow
Other skylines
Other skylines to hold you

Relayer
All the passion spent on one cross
Relayer
Sail the futile wars they suffer
Relayer
We advance we retrace our story, fail safe now

Stand on hills of long forgotten yesterdays
Pass amongst your memories told returning ways
As certain as we walk today
Press over moments leaving you
Out in the city running free
Days pass as seconds turn the key
The strength of the moment lies with you
Out tender outward lights of you
Shine over mountains make the view
The strength of you seeing lies with you

Ours entrance we surely carry on
And change the passing of the sun
We don't even need to try we are one

And I do think very well
As the truth unfolds you
Silently
They move time
Rainbows
Sunlight
Alternate tune
Alternate tune

Rainbows
Soft light
Alternate view
Sunlight
Tell me
Someone
Alternate view
Alternate view, surely, surely

III. The Ancient: Giants Under the Sun

As one with the knowledge and magic of the source
Atuned to the majesty of music
They marched as one with earth.

Sol, Dhoop
Sun
Ilios
Naytheet
Ah Kin
Saule
Tonatiuh
Qurax
Gunes, Grian
Surje
Ir
Samse

So the flowering creativity of life wove its web face to face with the shallow
And their gods sought out and conquered
Ah Kin

Do the leaves of green stay greener through the autumn?
Does the colour of the sun turn crimson white?
Does a shadow come between us in the winter?
Is the movement really light?

And I heard a million voices singing,
Acting to the story that they had heard about.
Does one child know the secret and can say it
Or does it all come out along without you
Along without you
Along without you.

Where does reason stop and killing just take over?
Does a lamb cry out before we shoot it dead?
Are there many more in comfort understanding?
Is the movement in the head?

And I heard a million voices singing,
Acting to the story that they had heard about.
Does one child know the secret and can say it
Or does it all come out along without you
Along without you
Along without you.

IV. Ritual: Nous Sommes Du Soleil

Nous sommes du soleil. We love when we play.
Nous sommes du soleil. We love when we play.
Open doors we find our way
We look we see we smile
Surely daybreaks cross our path
And stay maybe a while.

Let them run, let them chase
Let them hid between
Constant doors will open eyes
As life seems like
Life seems like a
Fight, fight, fight.

Maybe I'll just sing awhile
And then give you a call.
Maybe I'll just say hello
And say maybe that's all.
Hurry home as love is true
Will help us through the night.

Till we're coming home again
Our life seems like
Life seems like a
Fight, fight, fight.

Catch as we look and use the passions that flow
As we try we continue
We receive all we venture to give.

Maybe we'll just stand awhile
And surely we can call
Dreams are said to blossom courage
Constant to the soul.

Change we must as surely time does
Changes call the course
Held inside we enter daybreaks
Asking for asking for
The source
The source
The source
Sent as we sing our music's total retain.

As we try and consider
We receive all we venture to give
All we say is our
Soul constant sight listener
We won't tender our song clearer
Till we sail
Then I will be there
And I will be there
As clearer companions
Shall call to be near you
They move around tell me that
Move around surely sing
As they don't seem to matter at all
At all at all ...

Hold me my love, hold me today, call me round
Travel we say, wander we choose, love tune
Lay upon me, hold me around lasting hours
We love when we play.

We hear a sound and alter our returning,
We drift the shadows and course our way on home,
Flying home,
Going home.

Look me my love sentences move dancing away,
We join we receive
As our song memories long hope in a way,
Nous sommes du soleil.
Hold me around lasting ours,
We love when we play.
Nous sommes du soleil.
Nous sommes du soleil.
Nous sommes du soleil.

Namaste Shriyash21.
I don't agree with you.
And I have to tell you a thing:heavy metal music is my second religion.
I have two religions:Hinduism and heavy metal music.
Heavy metal music has a power that really conquered my heart.I am slave to that musical power.
I can't to escape anymore the immense and enormous power of heavy metal.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b6/Edward_the_Great.jpg
It is too late for me! :D
Now I will copy the song Powerslave taken from the Iron Maiden's album Powerslave
http://membres.lycos.fr/personne/ironmaiden/IMAGES/POWERSLAVE.JPG

Into the Abyss I'll fall - the eye of Horus
Into the eyes of the night - watching me go
Green is the cat's eye that glows -
in the Temple
Enter the risen Osiris - risen again.

[Chorus:]
Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a God,
why can't I live on?
When the Live Giver dies,
all around is laid waste,
And in my last hour,
I'm a Slave to the Power of Death.

When I was living this lie - Fear was my Game
People would worship and fall -
drop to their knees.
So bring me the blood and
red wine for the one to succeed me,
For he is a man and a God -
and He will die too.

[Chorus:]

Now I am cold but a ghost lives in my veins,
Silent the terror that reigned -
marbled in stone
Shell of man God preserved -
a thousand ages,
But open the gates of my hell -
I will strike from the grave

[Chorus:]
Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a God,
why can't I live on?
When the Live Giver dies,
all around is laid waste,
And in my last hour,
I'm a Slave to the Power of Death.
Slave to the Power of Death...
Slave to the Power of Death...

Stairway to Heaven
(Page/Plant)

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
And you know sometimes words have two meanings
In the tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forest will echo with laughter

And it makes me wonder

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May Queen
Yes there are two paths you can go by
but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on

Your head is humming and it won't go because you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady can't you hear the wind blow and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for
And she's buying a stairway to heaven, uh uh uh.

Now I will copy the text of a song from the following Iron Maiden's album.
http://membres.lycos.fr/personne/ironmaiden/IMAGES/SOMEWHERE_IN_TIME.JPG

The song is Stranger in a Strange land. This song was released as single in November 22, 1986

Stranger In A Strange Land

Was many years ago that I left home and came this way
I was a young man, full of hopes and dreams
But now it seems to me that all is lost and
nothing gained
Sometimes things ain't what they seem
No brave new world, no brave new world
No brave new world, no brave new world

Night and day I scan horizon, sea and sky
My spirit wanders endlessly
Until the day will dawn and friends from home
discover why
Hear me calling, rescue me
Set me free, set me free
Lost in this place, and leave no trace

Chorus:
Stranger in a strange land
Land of ice and snow
Trapped inside this prison
Lost and far from home

One hundred years have gone and men again
they came that way
To find the answer to the mystery
They found his body lying where it fell on that day
Preserved in time for all to see
No brave new world, no brave new world
Lost in this place, and leave no trace

What became of the man that started
All are gone and their souls departed
Left me here in this place
So all alone

Chorus:
Stranger in a strange land
Land of ice and snow
Trapped inside this prison
Lost and far from home

What became of the man that started
All are gone and their souls departed
Left me here in this place
So all alone

Chorus:
Stranger in a strange land
Land of ice and snow
Trapped inside this prison
Lost and far from home

"Shine Down"

So tired sleeping through the day
Bloodshot eyes and sweat from my body
And I picked my head up yesterday
Found the reason of hope left inside of me

But I still believe in immortal love
And I know there's someone above

Shine down, don't take it away from me, no
And I know you know how, yeah
Shine down, just give me a chance to feel it
It's taken forever to get me off the ground

Haunted silence overwhelming me
Deny takes it's toll on my sanity
And I know I've been away too long
All these years I've been hiding
I'm feeling I'm coming strong

But I still believe in immortal love
And I know there's someone that's up above
Show me a path to find my way
And give me a reason pray

Shine down, don't take it away from me, no
And I know you know how, yeah
Shine down, just give me a chance to feel it
It's taken forever to get me off the ground

Shine down, don't take it away from me, no
And I know you know how, yeah
And shine down, just give me a chance to feel it
It's taken forever to get me off the ground
Shine down
Shine down
Oh, shine down
Oh baby, yeah, yeah, yeah
Shine down
Oh, shine down
Oh, shine down
Oh baby shine down

Heavy Horses

Iron-clad feather-feet pounding the dust
An October's day, towards evening
Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough
Salt on a deep chest seasoning
Last of the line at an honest day's toil
Turning the deep sod under
Flint at the fetlock, chasing the bone
Flies at the nostrils plunder.

The Suffolk, the Clydesdale, the Percheron vie
with the Shire on his feathers floating
Hauling soft timber into the dusk
to bed on a warm straw coating.

Heavy Horses, move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding --- slipping and sliding free
Now you're down to the few
And there's no work to do
The tractor's on its way.

Let me find you a filly for your proud stallion seed
to keep the old line going.
And we'll stand you abreast at the back of the wood
behind the young trees growing
To hide you from eyes that mock at your girth,
and your eighteen hands at the shoulder
And one day when the oil barons have all dripped dry
and the nights are seen to draw colder
They'll beg for your strength, your gentle power
your noble grace and your bearing
And you'll strain once again to the sound of the gulls
in the wake of the deep plough, sharing.

'Seventh Sign' by YNGWIE MALMSTEEN

"The earth is crumbling, the end is near
no one's listening, I'm filled with fear
hear the warning, in the prophet's word
day by day, we're destroying this world
no more water
no more blue skies
no one cares, no one tries
to save what we once had
world at war (a world at war)
rich and poor (rich and poor)
burn in hell (burn in hell)
hear dooms days bells (dooms days bells)
ringing loud (ringing loud)
I see black clouds
we are making lucifer so proud
world at war (a world at war)
rich and poor (rich and poor)
burn in hell (burn in hell)
hear dooms days bells (dooms days bells)
ringing loud (ringing loud)
I see black clouds
we are making lucifer so proud
blind leading the blind
no one sees the seventh sign
we're left behind
there's no more hope, the day has come
what we have done, can't be undone
too many years, we've lived in sin
we know for sure, the beast will win
fight fire with fire, to start to run
don't trust a liar, like we have done
we've lost the battle to the evil one
blind leading the blind
no one sees the seventh sign
we're left behind.

The Pilgrim

The keys to death and hell
The ailing kingdom doomed to fail
The bonds of sin and heart will break
The pilgrims course will take

Quelling the devils might
And ready for eternal fight
Aching limbs and fainting soul
Holy battles take their toll

Liberty and hope divine
Changing the water into wine
So to you we bid farewell
Kingdom of heaven to hell

Spirit holy life eternal
Raise me up take me home
Pilgrim sunrise pagan sunset
Onward journey begun

To courage find and gracious will
Deliver good from ill
Clean the water clean our guilt
With us do what you will

Then will my judge appear
Bear no false angel that I hear
For only then I will confess
To my eternal hell

Now give us our holy sign
Changing the water into wine
So to you we bid farewell
Kingdom of heaven to hell

Spirit holy life eternal
Raise me up take me home
Pilgrim sunrise pagan sunset
Onward journey begun

Solo

Now give us our holy sign
Changing the water into wine
So to you we bid farewell
Kingdom of heaven to hell

Spirit holy life eternal
Raise me up take me home
Pilgrim sunrise pagan sunset
Onward journey begun

Spirit holy life eternal
Raise me up take me home
Pilgrim sunrise pagan sunset
Onward journey begun

For the Greater Good of God

Are you a man of peace
Or a man of holy war
Too many sides to you
Don’t know which anymore
So many full of life
But also filled with pain
Don’t know just how many
Will live to breathe again

A life that’s made to breathe
Destruction or defense
A mind that’s vain corruption
Bad or good intent
A wolf in sheep’s clothing
Or saintly or sinner
Or some that would believe
A holy war winner

They fire off many shots
And many parting blows
Their actions beyond a reasoning
Only God would know
And as he lies in heaven
Or it could be in hell
I feel he’s somewhere here
Or looking from below
But I don’t know, I don’t know

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

More pain and misery in the history of mankind
Sometimes it seems more like
The blind leading the blind
It brings upon us more famine, death and war
You know religion has a lot to answer for

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

And as they search to find the bodies in the sand
They find its ashes that are
Scattered across the land
And as the spirits seem to whistle on the wind
A shot is fired somewhere another war begins

And all because of it you’d think
That we would learn
But still the body count the city fires burn
Somewhere there's someone dying
In a foreign land
Meanwhile the world is crying stupidity of man
Tell me why, tell me why

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

For the greater good of God (x8)

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

For the greater good of God (x8)

He gave his life for us
He fell upon the cross
To die for all of those
who never mourn his loss
It wasn’t meant for us
to feel the pain again
Tell me why, tell me why

Lord of Light
There are secrets that you keep
There are secrets that you keep
There are secrets that you tell to me alone
I can't reach things I can't see
You don't see this strange world
quite the same as me
Don't deny me what I am
Nothing hidden still you fail to see the truth
These are things you can't reveal

These are things you can't reveal

We are part of some strange plan
Why the slaughter of the brotherhood of man
Infernal sacrifice of hell
Fire breathing lead the way
Mounds of bodies as they all burn into one
Revenge is living in the past
Time to look into a new millennium

Spiral path leads through the maze
Down into the fiery underworld below
Fire breathing lead the way
Lucifer was just an angel led astray

Free your soul and let it fly
Give your life to the Lord of Light
Keep your secrets and rain on me
All I see are mysteries

Free your soul and let it fly
Give your life to the Lord of Light
Keep your secrets and rain on me
All I see are mysteries

We are not worthy in your black
and blazing eyes
We gather demons in the mirror every day
The bridge of darkness casts a
shadow on us all
And all our sins to you we give this day

Others wait their turn
their lives were meant to last
Use yours wisely as the light is fading fast
Free your soul and let it fly
Mine was caught I couldn't try
Time returns again to punish all of us

We are cast out by our bloody father's hand
We are strangers in this lonely promised land
We are the shadows of the one unholy ghost
In our nightmare world the only one we trust

Solo

Free your soul and let it fly
Give your life to the Lord of Light
Keep your secrets and rain on me
All I see are mysteries

Free your soul and let it fly
Give your life to the Lord of Light
Keep your secrets and rain on me
All I see are mysteries

Jethro Tull (http://www.absolutelyrics.com/lyrics/artist/jethro_tull/)
Moths

The leaded window opened
to move the dancing (javascript:void(0)) candle flame
And the first Moths of summer
suicidal came.
And a new breeze chattered
in its May-bud tenderness ---
Sending water-lillies sailing
as she turned to get undressed.
And the long night awakened
and we soared on powdered wings ---
Circling our tomorrows
in the wary month of Spring.
Chasing shadows slipping
in a magic lantern slide (javascript:void(0)) ---
Creatures of the candle
on a night-light-ride.
Dipping and weaving --- flutter
through the golden needle's eye
in our haystack madness (javascript:void(0)). Butterfly-stroking
on a Spring-tide high.
Life's too long (as the Lemming said)
as the candle burned and the Moths were wed.
And we'll all burn together as the wick grows higher ---
before the candle's dead.
The leaded window opened
to move the dancing candle flame.
And the first moths of summer
suicidal came
to join in the worship
of the light that never dies
in a moment's reflection
of two moths spinning in her eyes.

Beautiful lyric from The Band Death in June

are you close to
or far from your conscience?
as the petals of life
decay
"ignorance is bliss"
the sad remiss
to the clarion call
of today

(see how it burns)

but, we struggle in wyrd with amusement
and, contempt for all that holds
sway
are you close to
or far from your conscience?
is the question I ask
today

(see how they run)

kameradschaft!

are you close to
or far from your conscience?
as their reason for life
fades away
petty beliefs - petty platitudes
all ring hollow day

are you close to
or far from your conscience?
as the blossom of life
drifts away
are you close to
or far from your conscience?
is the question I ask today

kameradschaft!

every angel knows
the congress of liberty
the sadness and smiles
of our memories
with this - we let go
our lady of the snows

kameradschaft!

are you close to
or far from your conscience?
as their meaning in life
dies away
are you close to
or far from your conscience?
the question I ask today

kameradschaft!

Namaste,

While I have not followed what is currently the popular forms of what is called heavy metal music, this thread brings me reminiscences of my youth, back in the late 60's early 70's.

I remember the kind of "sounds" then that had a lasting impact on me at a young age 14, was music coming from the likes of Mahavishnu John McLaughlin and Devadip Carlos Santana. Both of these master musicians were highly influenced by guru Sri Chinmoy.
