Namaste All,

Is there a way we can share music over a common portal? I have some 30 GB of VBR rendered high quality music, of which about 10 GB is of religious category, most of it imported from personal original audio CDs.

If you use iTunes, you can download Simplify Media. Its at http://simplifymedia.com/ Its a small program and you can invite individuals to listen to all of your music on your iTunes. My username is meez, so if you do download it, go ahead and invite me! Be well.

Namaste Meez,

Thank You. I use iTunes. I will have to download Simplify Media from home, since downloading from office PC is barred. But I do not have an all time online internet connection at home, where I listen. I hope, I can install it both at home and office and then download (and allow share/download from other end as well) on my office PC, which can be all time online.

I will surely invite you shortly. Is there any server similar to imageshack that allows music uploading?

Regards,

Om

Sounds good to me. Don't worry if you aren't always online, when you are, great, we can listen to each others music then.

As far as a server for uploading music, there are a few. I am most familiar with imeem.com but there is a catch. Not all music is licensed by the artist/record label to be played, even when uploaded by someone who purchased the song. So what happens is, after you upload your song, it will only allow others to listen to a 30 second sample of it, instead of the whole song. The other bad part about this is, you won't know which artists or even specific songs will be the full length or be a 30 second sample until AFTER you have uploaded it. So you may spend 15 or 20 minutes uploading music, only to find out afterwards, it won't let anyone listen to more the 30 seconds of it.

You can see what I'm talking about here: http://profile.imeem.com/TKMpEE

This is my profile. Under the picture on the left, click Playlists and you can see some of the music I have uploaded. Lots of them are 30 second samples unfortunately.

Take care my friend!

Have you tried the "Soul seeker" ?!

Here goes the description of the Site according to what is posted on it:

" One of the things that makes Soulseek(tm) unique is our community and community-related features. Based on peer-to-peer technology, virtual rooms allow you to meet people with the same interests, share information, and chat freely using real-time messages in public or private";

" The intention of Soulseek(tm) is to help unsigned and/or independent artists find a place in the ever-growing music industry, in a place where discussion and the creation of music can take place. Use of this network for what may be deemed illegal in nature may see users prosecuted by law, and the owners and/or operators of the Soulseek(tm) network do not offer protection from said incidents."

Distributing music of Brahman may not be consituted as piracy?

Depends if the music is copyrighted or not, personally I think sharing the music with others who would normally never get to hear the music is a good thing.

I have uploaded a few more songs on the above page. They are just one song each from full albums. And these songs are usually longish -- may not run from the page and it may be best to download and listen on a good music system.
