I keep coming across this person as i read more and more of the Srimad Bagavatam. Who is this person? Are they real? Is there any evidence outside of the Puranas that show this man is more than a myth?

shukadeva gosvAmI was the son of shrI vyAsa. He spoke the words he learned from his father, and both sages are regarded as the principle AcAryAs of the dvApara yugam.
