Hi all:

Just a thought to swing back on a lighter side!

When we talk of "true awakening", is it the "ego" that awakens or the "atma" that awakens?
Perhaps, you may want to support with your points if it is one or the other!

Blessings,

Namaste nirotu,
a nice question... I will keep the view of the wise:
It is said The Supreme double-backs onto itSELF , a SELF embrace; from this embrace comes creation. My teacher said it this way, curving back onto mySELF I create again and again.

It is the notion of Self-referral, the curving back, that is offered above. The wise attest to this Self-refferral experience as awakening. We can look to the Chāndogya Upaniṣad if we care to. Yet it is the SELF that reveals itSELF to itSELF.

It is our job to provide the run-way for this to occur. This in my opinion is sādhana - techniques for getting us (the ego) out of the way for this Self-referral to occur.

I hope others choose to give their POV's.

True awakening is by Love. Whenever I am fully awake, I understand how to be gracious.
