Namaste,
The fact that many verses in the Vedas are scientific in nature or explain the processes of the universe in scientific terms is quite evident.
For example, the Surya Siddhanta talks, in explicit detail, about planetary motions, eclipses, heliocentric model, and many others. This is supposed to have been written in the Treta Yuga (~1.5-1.7 million years ago) and even a gross underestimation by Western Indologists place the text around 300 CE (over 1700 years ago).
However, it would be a good idea to put together a booklet or at least an online source where the EXACT Vedic verses about science are cited and the corresponding (Western) scientific principle or 'theory'.
When one simply states, "Modern science echoes what the Vedas say", it is rather inconclusive without 'proof' or citation to lead the enquirer in the appropriate direction.
To be completely honest, I myself do not know the exact verses in the Vedas that expound principles that modern science is barely beginning to uncover. It would be very useful to know where and in which scripture(s) the principles are laid out.
I think this can be a group effort here on HDF.
I look forward to the responses.
Subham.
