is there any conections with lucid dreaming and vedic astrology or even meditation, is there any indication about kucid dreaming in the vedas. i remember a story in the mahabarta when sri krishnas guru took both sri krishna and sri balarama to a secred temple by way of outer body experiance, this was done by some meditation. it has been noted the lucid dreaming could lead to outerbody experiances. anyways is there any explinaton for this in astrology and the vedas?????????????

Namaste eshwaar,

Assuming that Lucid may mean aware, I offer the followings.

Hindu scriptures in general state that "The bliss of turiya (the fourth state of consciousness beyond the waking state, dream state and deep sleep state) arises, or is woven through all the different states of waking, dream and deep sleep."

Thus the Turiya itself, when it participates in any of its states is in 'Lucid Dream' state of which there are several kinds mentioned in Yoga Vashista.

In Rig Veda also, it is said that Rudra never slumbers. So, if Rudra is the Seer of His own deep sleep, dream, or waking states, He would be in the Lucid state always.

Moreover, a Self Realised sage, participating in the waking state or in the dream state is in the Lucid state alone.

I hope this clarifies.

Om
