Namaste,

Okay so I am deciding to try some hindu practices just to orient myself with what it would be like to be a hindu daily. I am also doing the same with buddhism. So for a week I will practice hindu practices and a week buddhist then back to hindu back and forth to see what I feel my heart calling me to.

I was wanting to know how to perform basic puja some easy form of puja for Lord Ganesha. I have read loving ganesha but it seems to confuse me when i read about the puja in there. Is there some small puja i can do daily for him?

Any other suggestions aswell?

Just be yourSELF! ;)

Then, you are a Hindu!

Remember, there is no practice or something "out" there; it is all within; TAT TVAM ASI!

Namaskar.

Who is Ganesha? Who is Buddha? They both symbolize Buddhi. The same root word “budh” (to know, awake) became "Buddha".

I was reading online and stumbled upon this, thought it would fit:

“God is in you, God is in every word of yours, every deed and thought. Speak, do and think as befits Him. Do the duty that He has allotted to the best of your ability, and to the satisfaction of your conscience [Ganesha]. That is the most rewarding puuja.

When you stand before another, his image is in your eye, and your image is in his; haven't you observed this? You are in me, I am in you, that is the truth this phenomenon proclaims. When you have faith in this, and when you cultivate love, humility, reverence for life, and tolerance, you are on the right path. When you are not on this path, that is to say, when you are travelling left, you are certainly left out, when it is a question of sharing Divine Grace.

The body is the temple of God, isn't it? Well. What does the priest do in the temple every day? First, he cleans the utensils and sacred vessels in the shrine. He sweeps the room and washes the altar. The senses are the utensils for the puuja of the God within; they have to be cleaned and assiduously kept free from dirt. Inner cleanliness is Godliness. That is possible only through sense-control, and mind-control; or what amounts to the same saadhana, dedication of all desires and activities to God…

When God is recognised as dwelling within, everyone will perform his duty as an act of worship.” (Sathya Sai Speaks, 12:14)

You may visit any Hindu temple & see how the devotees perform the puja there. It can be very elaborate & it can also be very very simple. Just watch others what they actually do. You may also take the help of the Priest who specialises in the correct way to perform puja.
