One can see the moons of Jupiter with 50X (power) binoculars. I can count about 3 moons this PM. Other nights I may see up to 7 or 8 ( of a total of 63 so far documented). They look to be at roughly at 30º tilt.

Jupiter became retrograde ~ 15th June 2009. Today as I type Jupiter resides at 27º 46' 20" in Capricorn, bright and clear in the eastern sky.
