This is a version of Jnanadeva's Gita commentary I am not familiar with - Jnaneshwari tr. by M. R. Yardi. It appears to be out of print. Has anyone read it; is it a good translation?

Never mind - I found it online and will compare with Pradan & other versions: http://www.saibaba.us/texts/jnaneshwari/

Someone posted a link to a lecture in English from a Indian swami, the lectures started with commentary of the shlokas of the Gita Mahatmya, has anyone saved the link? I can't find it anymore.

edit: found it looking for gita as geeta in the search function. http://hindudharmaforums.com/showthread.php?t=5128&highlight=geeta

I just wanted to say that the Jnaneshwar's commentary is the single greatest spiritual text I have ever read.

I agree with you...

Saint Jnaneshwar's Jnaneshwari is the best Gita version I have ever read. It is actually a Marathi Composition by the great saint. A good English translation can be seen here...

Barbara Stoler Miller (August 8, 1940 – April 19, 1993) was a scholar of Sanskrit literature. Her translation of the Bhagavad Gita was extremely successful and she helped popularize Indian literature in the U.S.

She kept her Gita translation very Short, Crisp & Sweet since her mother tongue is English, at the same time she was a great Sanskrit Scholar of her time...

Following site has her translation....

here are two commentaries: 1) Paramahansa Yogananda on The Bhagavad Gita http://www.yogananda.com.au/gita00.html +++ 2) "Commentary On The Bhagavad Gita" by Sri Chinmoy http://www.srichinmoylibrary.com/commentary-on-the-bhagavad-gita-the-song-of-the-transcendental-soul (In 2007, Sri Chinmoy was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. Sri Chinmoy conducted meditations at the United Nations for about 30 years and at the US Congress for about 20 years.) May Lord Krishna's deep love and blessings be with us all!
