Here is a collection of Websites on Hindu Dharma and Bharat.

=============================================================================
Hindu Dharma: General
=============================================================================
http://www.atributetohinduism.com/
- A comprehensive coverage on Sanatana Dharma and ancient Bharat. It is amazing that this large Website is maintained by a single person whose name is Ms. Sushama Londhe.

http://www.bhagavadgitausa.com/
- Lots of detailed, illustrated information on Hindu Dharma, relating to Shiva, Vishnu and Shakti sects. The arrangement of topics is more like a modern art, rather than a Ravi Varma portrait, but the information could be useful. I am yet to dig into the site.

http://www.bnaiyer.com/
- A disciplined way to study and practice the various facets of Sanatana Dharma.

http://www.celextel.org/
- An online spiritual library with English translations of Sanatana Dharma scriptures.

http://www.hindubooks.org/
- Aptly named the Hindu Books Universe. Truly encyclopedic in scope and contents. The pain, however, are the advertisements and the dynamic design that presents the contents in narrow columns scaling several pages. It is really said that the site-owners have to value their contents in terms of commercial returns.

http://www.sanathanadharma.com/
- Has useful briefs on many topics of Sanatana Dharma.

http://www.sivanandadlshq.org/
- A Website of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh, founded by the great Swami Sivananda, a profic writer on Sanatana Dharma. Several of the books can be downloaded and distributed freely.

http://www.hinduism.org.za/
- An award-winning Website that has serves as a comprehensive satsang on Sanatana Dharma.

=============================================================================
Hindu Dharma: Ashrams
=============================================================================
http://www.agasthiar.org/
- Agasthiar's Universal Mission
http://www.chitrapurmath.net/
- In addition to their ashram-specific contents, has Sanskrit lessons.

- Swamiji's magazine 'Madhuramurali' in English and Tamil (in pdf format) can be downloaded here.

http://www.himalayanacademy.com/
- of the Kauai's Hindu Monastery, founded by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniaswami. Great online books on Saivism, which can be downloaded. Has a special set of course material for teaching Sanatana Dharma to children. The famous 'Hinduism Today' magazine, published by the HPI, USA, is from this Ashram. This magazine has a separte Website under its name, where the online magazine issues are now offered for download.

http://www.kamakoti.org/
- of the Kanchi Matham. Has an online collection of Kanchi Paramacharya's upanyasams under the title 'Hindu Dharma' in English and "Deivatthin Kural' in Tamil. Hailed as the fifth Veda, this collection is a treasure of reference to every Hindu.

http://www.sriramakrishnamath.org/
- has online copies of its magazines. Even though the Math's printed books are very reasonably priced, one would expect the collected works of Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna for online reference and download here, but this facility is not offered.

=============================================================================

His brief work "Rewriting Indian History", whose inspiration is the great saint Sri Aurobindo is a must read for every Indian. If every Indian has the perspectives and dreams of Mr. Gautier, India will be regain her lost glory and tradition.

Rare books on Hinduism and Hindu texts published in the 19th and early 20th centuries can be downloaded from these links:

Hinduism:
http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=hinduism

Vedas:
http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=vedas

Upanishads:
http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=upanishads

Though most authors are westerners, the books might be useful in the historical perspective and to check the shortcomings of the western perceptions of Hinduism. Books by Indian authors in English and other languages are also there in this huge collection of library archives.

Thanks for the website links! These are very good! I also like http://www.DharmaTV.net (http://www.dharmatv.net/) - large collection of videos on different aspects of Hinduism nicely categorized in sections like Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Vedanta, etc.

I would suggest people read these for starters:

http://rajivmalhotra.com/complete-list-rajiv-malhotra-articles/

http://rajivmalhotra.com/books/invading-sacred/

And buy a kindle of these books by Rajivji Malhotra - Breaking India, Being Different Indra's Net, and soon, Battle for Sanskrit - from Amazon. Please read all this in order to understand what to trust/not trust as far as works go. I would not read the translations by Westerners if I can avoid it. There are a lot of non-translatables in saṃskṛta, and Rajivji points that out in his book, Being Different.
