I watched a show on Oprah a while back about a prince from India who came out as gay and was basically rejected by his family. Does anyone know his name so I can google him and see what he's up to now?

My other questions: how are gays currently treated in India and how have they been treated throughout history? Hasn't India passed some laws making homosexuality legal? What happened when it wasn't legal? And how did the prince effect the population of India positively and negatively.

How safe is it to be out in India? And, just one last question, :D , I promise. are there any sacred Hindu texts that speak on homosexuality?

Love to you,

Namaste,

I'm aware of that thread and have been reading it. I will ask some of my questions there. I was pretty much interested in how the prince from India has effected the quality of life for gays in India. It seems he may have made nudged with outing himself more equality towards gays.
