Most browsers allow Websites to be browsed offline, with a facility to update such offline sites, which are cached to the harddisk. Subject to the regulations of copyright and other issues, viewing Websites offline is convenient, on a desktop PC, more so on a laptop.

WinHTTrack is a tool for archiving the contents of a Website to a named folder on your harddisk. If you have a broadband connection, you may easily download an entire Website (subject to statutory regulations) to your harddisk, using this tool.

This useful tool can be downloaded at:
http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html

Suppose, let us say, you've download the Website www.abc.com/ into a folder named abc, WinHTTrack creates a folder in the Website name, among other folders. Once the download is complete, you may choose to move the Website folder only to another location and remove all other folders, to conserve harddisk space. The downloaded contents are okay in most cases, but some files/links/images might be missing. Once you are satisfied with the download, you may also delete the hts-cache folder created by WinHTTrack.

In case of interruption to a download session, the software prompts you to continue with the download, the next time you load it. If there are errors in the download, it chooses to update the existing contents and then continue.
