Horoscope is a common link in an astrology site (http://www.astrology-india.com/). Though religiousness in itself is no qualification for analyzing horoscopes. In the West there are even many religionists who declare astrology to be the work of the evil spirit. Elaborate study of astrological techniques, mathematical aptitude, good instinct and communicative abilities are a must for this. Jyotish is a established science. The accuracy is mostly mind boggling. The amount of information that can be analysed is never-ending. Therefore for a good analysis a horoscope must be understood and applied thoroughly.

Based on lunar constellations, planets or signs Jyotish makes use of certain divisions of a persons life. These divisions or time periods, help us to determine when certain things will happen. In this way it's feasible to predict in which season or month a marriage will take place, children will be born, how health and finances will be, what will be one's partiality towards spiritual life, and what are one's chances for attaining moksha - freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

In Vedic astrology Moon is given more magnitude compared to Western astrology,. In Western astrology these systems are unknown. The future is predicted through study of transits and progressions. These are definitely good techniques which, when merged with the Vedic techniques, give exceptionally accurate results.

Jyotish or Vedic astrology is not only a science. Jyotisha starts where all material sciences cease to exist. Hence it is beyond the comprehension of material science.
Although, it needs astronomy to accurately calculate the heavenly bodies and their positions in the space but its not mere some latitude and longitude calculations, it's beyond that.
Vedic Astrology identifies the sufferings of human beings and suggests suitable remedies or path for their spiritual as well as material progress.
Vedic Astrology or Jyotish is not religious but its an spiritual science.

Yes, the pains of this life can be indicated, yet if one misses the blessings that are called out in one's birth chart, one misses the strength and direction jyotiṣ has to offer.
