Hello, would you be so kind to tell me if there is some Indian philosophical, musicological ( most likely Vaishnava ) treatise on music ?
I have read some treatises about Vedic ontology and it seems to me that music is just a material object that belongs to Lords external potency-maya.
It would be really great to read much more and be inspired by it, it would be certainly refreshing, revolutionary stream into the dry pond of European scholarly speculations, to my mind:).

I have read some Sridhar Maharaja and Bhaktivinode Thakur which is highly interesting, they concerns material nature but none of them discuss direcly about music.

Anyway, I have to write my thesis this year so I will appreciate almost everything!!! :)

Thank you!

namaste KRSNAmusic.

Perhaps you already checked the Website: http://www.maharishi.org/gandharva/

In the Personal Library collection, I have given some links to Indian music. Just search with the 'music' in the pages of the thread below:

Alternatively, you might download the zip file I have sent to Satay and then download any music links that might be of help to your research.
