Vannakkam: In the article, praise is given to museums for displaying ancient Hindu art. I am wondering how much of this 'art' was stolen in bygone days. Here in Canada, the First nations peoples are often trying to get their stuff back, as the British just raided and mopped up the colorful beaded jackets and stuff, after first killing the person wearing it.

I wouldn't be praising such things unless I knew for sure it was on loan from an Indian museum.

The murthis of ancient temples that were destroyed my Mughal and other invaders were often buried at sea of buried underground.

My recent refugee friends from Sri Lanka told me that was the only way they could keep any money in the war, and that is why in many cases, entire villages were leveled, just so the people couldn't find the location of their buried money. Sad.

Sorry for rambling.
