Namaste,

I happened upon this video of Rig Veda recitation by two Brahmins:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tZv9utp-oc

The pronunciation, meter, and voice is simply superb!

Very rare to see such authentic recitation of any Vedas online.

The video is 8 parts I believe.

One of the most impressive parts:

Those arent regular Brahmins. Those are the temple priest type. For thousands of years they are used to reciting in perfect pronounciation and metre.

They look like those "pusari" Tamil Brahmins.

Namaste,

That is very impressive! We need more priests like that in American temples.

Jai Sri Krishna

Its very rare to find priests like that.:( I think they are "Gurukkals", super-orthodox.

What's a "regular" Brahmin?

And, what on earth is a "pusari"?

These are SmartA Brahmins who recite Vedas better than most and don't have a 'sing-songy' tune like some "paandits".

It's not bad, but they have a very heavy southern accent.

Look here for the vedas in mp3:
