Namaste all.
Now I will quote something from the book Dancing with Siva, Hinduism's Contemporary Catechism by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami.

What Is the Nature of Lord Ganesha?
SLOKA 22
Lord Ganesha is the elephant-faced Patron of Art and Science, the Lord of Obstacles and Guardian of Dharma. His will prevails as the force of righteousness, the embodiment of Siva's karmic law in all three worlds. Aum.
BHASHYA
Lord Siva, the Almighty Power, created Heaven and Earth and the God Lord Ganesha to oversee the intricate karmas and dharmas within the heavens and all the earths. Lord Ganesha was created as a governor and interplanetary, intergalactic Lord. His knowledge is infinite, His judgment is just. It is none other than Lord Ganesha and His mighty band of ganas who gently help souls out of the Naraka abyss and adjust them into higher consciousness after due penance has been paid, guiding them on the right path toward dharmic destiny. He is intricate of mind, loving pomp, delighting in all things sweet and enjoying adulation. Lord Siva proclaimed that this son be worshiped first, even before Himself. Verily, He is the Lord of Karma. All Mahadevas, minor Gods, devas and sentient beings must worship Ganesha before any responsible act could hope to be successful. Those who do not are subject to their own barriers. Yea, worship of Him sets the pattern of one's destiny. The Tirumantiram says, "Five-armed is He, elephant-faced with tusks protruding, crescent-shaped, son of Siva, wisdom's flower, in heart enshrined, His feet I praise." Aum Namah Sivaya.
What Is Lord Ganesha's Special Duty?
SLOKA 23
As Lord of Obstacles, Ganesha wields the noose and the goad, icons of His benevolent power of preventing or permitting events to happen in our life. Thus, we invoke His grace and wisdom before any worship or task. Aum.
BHASHYA
Lord Ganesha, the God of time and memory, strategically seated on the muladhara chakra, poised between the higher and lower chakras, stabilizes all sentient beings. He holds the architect's plans of the divine masterpiece of universal past and future. Only good comes from Lord Ganesha, who by taking the form of an elephant distinguishes Himself from other Gods. The charya pada begins with His worship. He staves off misfortune for those who perform penance in His name. He guides our karma from within us through the timing of events. Before any important undertaking, we supplicate Him to clear obstacles from the path, if it be His will. This Lord of Obstacles prevents us from hurting ourselves through living under an incomplete concept or making a request unneeded or beginning an endeavor not well thought out. Before we petition Him, He expects us to use all of our faculties to arrive at the decision He would have made. The Agamas declare, "These Lords who, it is said, on the pure path, attend to the various duties deriving from a higher realm of maya are at the prow of the effects of the higher realm of maya." Aum Namah Sivaya.
If you worship the elephant-faced Vinayaka, your life will expand bountifully. If you worship the white-tusked Vinayaka, your desires and doubts will flee. Therefore, worship Him with love-offerings of jack, hoppers, plantain and mango fruits and thus mitigate the burden of deeds.Saint Auvaiyar. AG, 127
He has one tusk and four arms. Two of His hands hold a noose and a hook, while the other hands show the gestures of removing fear and granting boons. A mouse is seen on His flag. Red, obese, He has ears like winnowing baskets. He is dressed in red, with limbs painted with red sandalpaste.Ganapati Upanishad 11-12
The God with the elephantine visage I shall never forget -- Shankara's son, with massive belly and the thodu in His ear, the Lord who gave His grace to Indra, of whom mantra is His very form.Natchintanai, "Adoration..." NT, 222

Namaste all.
Now I will quote something from the book Loving Ganesha, Hinduism's Endearing Elephant-Faced God by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami.
By http://www.himalayanacademy.com/resources/books/lg/lg_ch-12.html
LOVE AND JOY COME TO HINDU FAMILIES WHO worship Lord Ganesha in their home through the traditional ceremony known as puja. By means of such sacred rites and the divine energies invoked, each family makes their house a sacred sanctuary, a refuge from the concerns and worries of the world. Pujas can be as simple as lighting a lamp and offering a flower at the Lord's holy feet; or they can be elaborate and detailed, with many chants and offerings. The indispensable part of any puja is devotion. Without love in the heart, outer performance is of little value. But with true devotion, even simple gestures are sacred ritual. In this chapter we present a simple puja that anyone desirous of invoking our loving Ganesha can perform. Sanskrit and English are given here, but the latter can easily be translated into your own native language. All family members should understand the meaning of the rites. Sanskrit should not become a barrier to performing Ganesha puja. After all, He understands all dialects. One need not be initiated to perform this puja invoking our Loving Ganesha. All that is required is that the celebrant believe in the laws of karma and reincarnation, which are the cornerstones of Hindu ethical and philosophical doctrine. Ganesha worship is enjoyed by all, Hindus and non-Hindus alike, as He is the first God to be worshiped. It is not wise for an ardha-Hindu, or half Hindu, to centralize worship on Siva or Murugan or other Gods until full commitment has been made through receiving the traditional sacraments, called saµskaras. Home puja is performed at least once a day, usually in the early morning. It is traditional to not partake of food at least three hours before puja, so puja is usually done prior to meals.
There are few restrictions on the performance of the puja to Loving Ganesha. There are more temples, roadside and home shrines to Him than to any other of the 330 million Gods in the pantheon of Sanatana Dharma. He understands life as it is. Fathers, mothers, children, grandparents, widows, divorcees and divorces all may perform His worship in home shrines where no yantra has ceremoniously been installed through the traditional balasthapana ceremony. He knows the world and all its worldliness. He enjoys the worship of His devotees. Although Himself a shakahari, that is, a vegetarian, He gladly accepts even the worship of devotees who include meat, fish, fowl, eggs or bugs in their diet at home. He is literate in every language of the world at any given time, but loves those unknowing of languages no less than those who are multilingual. Even though He is a virgin, He welcomes the worship of those who have enjoyed the specious pleasures of promiscuity. He, our loving Ganesha, is the God of humans and all sentient beings. But beware, He will guide them slowly in inscrutable ways. The "druggies" will become drugless, the mansahari, meat eaters, will become "veggies" and none will ever know what happened. He will prick their conscience so that guilt comes up and lift their soul to heights sublime. Therefore, even if you do not know Sanskrit, His favorite language among all His other favorite languages, you may perform this worship to Him in English or in any other language it would be easily translated into, and He will hear. Yes, He will hear.

LESSON 312
Temple Metaphysics
Our Supreme God Siva has created the Mahadevas, the Gods, to help us, to protect us, to inspire us -- such as Lord Murugan, Lord Ganesha and many others. Ganesha, above all others, is the God, the great Mahadeva, to be invoked before every act and especially worshiped and prayed to when changes occur in our lives as we move from the old established patterns into new ones. Lord Ganesha is always there to steady our minds and open the proper doors as we evolve and progress. He never, ever fails. He is always there for us when we need Him.

Our loving Ganesha, the rotund Deity honored by all Hindus, is approached with prayers and supplications by four traditionally dressed devotees, each from one of Sanatana Dharma's four primary denominations. Left to right, they are Saivite, Vaishnavite, Smarta and Shakta.
Now I will quote something from the book Merging with Siva, Hinduism's Contemporary Metaphysics.

LESSON 134
Lord Ganesha, The Gatekeeper
Lord Ganesha is the first God a Hindu comes to know. As the Lord of Categories, His first objective is to bring order into the devotee's life, to settle him into the correct and proper flow of his dharma -- the pattern of duties, responsibilities and expectations suited to the maturity of his soul. As the Lord of Obstacles, He deftly wields His noose and mace, dislodging impediments and holding avenues open until the individual is set in a good pattern, one that will fulfill his spiritual needs rather than frustrate them.
Always remember that Ganesha does not move swiftly. He is the elephant God, and His gait is slow and measured. As the God of the instinctive-intellectual mind, His darshans are carried on the slower currents of mind, and so His response to our prayers is usually not overnight or sudden and electric, but more deliberate and gradual. Yet, our patience is rewarded, for His work is thorough and powerful, of matchless force persisting until our lives and minds adjust and our prayer has become reality.
Lord Ganesha is also known as the Gatekeeper. Access to all the other Gods comes through Him. It is not that He would want to keep anyone from another God, but He prepares you to meet them and makes the meeting an auspicious one. This preparation can mean lifetimes. There is no hurry. It is not a race. Ganesha will faithfully bar access to those who do not merit a divine audience and an ensuing relationship with the other Deities whose darshans are faster. Should a devotee gain unearned access and invoke the powers of other Deities before all preparations were concluded, karma would accelerate beyond the individual's control. Worship of Lord Ganesha, however, may begin at any time.
Ganesha is the ubiquitous God. There are more shrines, altars and temples for Lord Ganesha than for any other God. Ganesha bhakti is the most spontaneous worship and the simplest to perform. It requires little ritual. Just the ringing of a small bell at the outset of a project before His picture or the burning of camphor or the offering of a flower is enough to invoke His presence and protection. Throughout India and Sri Lanka, there are small, unadorned shrines to Ganapati under shaded trees, along country roads, at bus terminals, along footpaths and in the city streets. His blessings are indeed everywhere. Helping Ganesha, whose powers of mind outreach the most advanced computers we can conceive, are His ganas,or devonic helpers. These ministering spirits collect the prayers of those in need, ferret out and procure the necessary information and bring it before Lord Ganesha's wisdom.
Now I will quote the INVOCATION TO VINAYAKA,which is the beginning of the Tirumantiram, literally "Holy incantation,".It is the Nandinatha Sampradaya's oldest Tamil scripture, written ca 200 bce by Rishi Tirumular.
By http://www.himalayanacademy.com/resources/books/tirumantiram/Invocation.html
INVOCATION TO VINAYAKA
He who has the five hands and the elephant's face,
Whose tusk is even as the crescent moon,
The son of Nandi, the Flower of Wisdom,
Him I cherish in thought, His feet adore.

What Are the Major Ganesha Festivals?
SLOKA 98
Ganesha Chaturthi is a joyous celebration of Ganesha's birthday. Vinayaka Vratam is twenty-one days of fasting and daily temple worship. Pancha Ganapati is a five-day family festival of harmony and gift-giving. Aum.
BHASHYA
On Ganesha Chaturthi, in August-September, elaborate temple pujas are held. Worship is also given in the home shrine to a clay image of Ganesha that we make or obtain. At the end of the day, or after ten days, we join others in a grand parade, called visarjana, to a river, temple tank, lake or seashore, where we immerse the image, symbolizing Ganesha's release into universal consciousness. During the twenty-one days of Vinayaka Vratam, in November-December, devotees vow to attend daily Ganesha puja, fasting on water and taking a full meal after sunset. Pancha Ganapati, December 21 to 25, is a modern five-day festival of gift-giving, dear to children. Families invoke His five shaktis, one on each day--creating harmony in the home, concord among relatives, neighbors and friends, good business and public relations, cultural upliftment and heartfelt charity. Ganesha's monthly holy day is Chaturthi, the fourth tithi after the new moon. The Vedas implore, "O Lord of Categories, thou art the Lord, the seer of seers, unrivaled in wealth, king of elders, lord of the principle of principles. Hear us and take thy place, bringing with thee all enjoyments." Aum Namah Sivaya.

Go ahead Shian, start a new thread on lyrics and translations. I don't have any lyrics for you from the CD. Most of those bhajans appear to be modern compositions. I think the last one though is traditional.
I was also wondering about "Namo Arya Nandikesvara Deva!" that wrote in your message. Is this a traditional chant/greeting in Indonesia?

Namo Arya Nandikesvara is Ganesha name in the Tantric Buddhist canon
Nandi is joy
Ganesh is happines God, and He is Red Wealth Deity
His wife is Girl Vinayaka (manifestasion of Arya Avalokitesvara)
Namaste Shian,
Very interesting, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Nandikeshvara (Lord of Nandi) is the name of Lord Shiva in Hinduism. Nandi means joy indeed! And Nandi is a symbol of the soul, depicted as a Bull, ever gazing upon Shiva. Nandikeshvara is also a name of an ancient sage (also called Maharishi Nandinatha).
In Indian tradition (particularly northern), Ganesha has two "wives" - Siddhi (success/fulfillment) and Buddhi (wisdom/intellect). On very rare occasions, Ganesha is Himself feminine (actually Mahadevas have no gender :)), and called Ganeshani. In Tibetan Buddhism, Ganesha is also a She, and called Gajanani!
Om Gam Ganapataye Namah.

Tantric Buddhism, like Tibetan or Shingon in Japan,
very respect for Ganesha Deva.
He is the son of Maha Mahesvara Deva (Shiva) and the brother of Veda Dharmapala (Skandha or Kartikeya in Hinduism).
Veda Dharmapala is Weituo Pusa in chinesse, try to search His pic in yahoo..^_^..
He is the important Guardian of Mahayana Buddhism,
He have symbol like Mayuri

Thanks! This is the same in Hinduism too. Although Ganesha is very popular in all forms of Hinduism, Kartikeya is only well known in Shaivite Hinduism.

This reminds me of a very interesting story in Hindu mythology. Once Lord Shiva told both His Sons to go around the universe, and who ever came back first would be His favorite. Kartikeya quickly took off on his peacock. Ganesha's mount was the mouse, so He knew He couldn't go around the universe as fast as Kartikeya. But Ganesha, who represents wisdom, was infinitely wise and knew His Father's intention. So, Ganesha got on His mouse and circumambulated His parents, Shiva and Shakti, because He knew the everything in existence is but Shiva-Shakti. :)
OM Shanti,
A.

when i learn Buddhism (deeply) oh..sory my english bad.
i saw ...
the concept of God in Hinduism is have many step,
like: first---bhakti (God in outside, God is creator, etc), two--(know about karma)...
and the high level Hinduism, when see the God is same to high level Buddhist see Buddha and Bodhisattva.
And...
destroy the small ego
we cant speak about God and Buddha in perfect words.
my friend said : "Hinduism is atta", "Buddhism is anatta"
but...
1. He not learn about Hinduism, (and Hinduism have many many sect)
2. He talk only Buddhism can give the enlightenment, ok... but! are he attain anatta? he can speak about anatta (non ego) but its not the realization about anatta, thats is only words, so he still atta!!! And if he become a Buddha he can realize the true anatta.

Hehe, you're the first one to notice that actually :). No I’m not Indonesian, but I really love that Balinese greeting. My avatar is also a Balinese OM. I want to make a pilgrimage to Indonesian holy sites one day. I know a person who runs an ashram in Bali and I hope to visit there. I also want to see Java – particularly Prambanan and Borobudur.

You’re right Shian. There are many many similiarities (and differences) between Sanatana and Buddha Dharma. Just like Buddhism is very complex with many sects, philosophies and traditions, so is Hinduism. It is quite simplistic to say the difference is simply atta vs anatta. The atta (atma/n) we speak of Hinduism is not the concept of atomic self (ego). It is beyond the senses, mind, ego, intellect, size, shape, space, time, causality, etc. In fact, there is nothing that we can say that it is, and nothing that we can say that it is not ;).
OM Shanti,
