Hi All,

I take pride to introduce myself.

I'm new here and I'm interested in aromatherapy for yoga.

Thanks,

John

Hi Johnsmith22,

Welcome to HDf :)

Aroma therapy seems to be a very modern science, the concept of aromatherapy was first mooted by a small number of European scientists and doctors, in about 1907.

In 1937, the word first appeared in print in a French book on the subject: Aromathérapie: Les Huiles Essentielles, Hormones Végétales by René-Maurice Gattefossé, a chemist. An English version was published in 1993.

Yoga is a complete science(ancient) by itself, do we need Aroma therapy for Yoga?

Still we do wait for other members to help you with different POVs. Thanks and regards.:)

Welcome to these forums. I think you might generate more discussion in a yoga forum, but while you're here, please stick around and read a bit. Within ancient Hinduism, I'm sure there were divine arts on which incense to use for which purpose. I'm not sure if the knowledge is still around. Sambrani in temples is an example, its uses as a purifier.
