I ran into a random Hindu website the other day that featured a MP3 of a very nice song playing on the background.

It was this:

Brahmamurari

tatpranamaami sadaasiva Lingam

tatpranamaami sadaasiva Lingam

Lingaastakamidam punyam yah pathet siva sannidhou
sivaLoka mavaapnoti sivena sahamodate

I found it one of the most pleasing mantras to listen, I really like its long form and short stotras with a certain repetitive metric to it, like Hanuman Chaleesa.

What can you tell me of this song? I couldn't find much info.

The day I discovered this song I let it playing while I went to sleep. Is it advisable? I ask because while I slept with a good feeling, I wasn't entirely rested (it may have something to do with its rythm and melody).

Here's the link for the MP3: http://unidadezero.com/pub/audio/vedas/LINGAM%20ASTAKAN.mp3

Does anyone know the artist?

Namasté,

Thanks for providing the mp3!

According to the information that pops up on Windows Media Player, it's N.S. Prakash Rao and B. Ramana; I believe this is a picture of the CD here (http://www.amazon.de/Linga-Astakam/dp/images/B0047WDVC6).

It's a lovely song, my parents often play it on cassette here. Thanks for the lyrics and MP3! :)

Vannakkam: At the Murugan temple in Baltimore, we were given copies of this song. Just before final aarti, the priests and all devotees present sang it. Kind of nice. Its also sung fairly commonly here at our local temple.
