Vannakam,

Recently (a few weeks ago) I had the immense pleasure of viewing the Apu Trilogy by famed director Satyajit Ray.

Who else has seen these films, they are in my opinion the best trilogy of all time (in this yuga at least)

Also I saw some interesting themes in the film such as the birth of secularism in the form of one of the brahmin's not-chosen poverty.

If anyone has any thoughts on the films I would like to know, I find them fantastic, not sure how accurate a picture it paints of india, but fantastic filmmaking all the same

Namaste Eric,

I haven't seen any of the films but I've heard nothing but great things about them. I'll likely watch the trilogy sometime in the next couple of months.

I'm yet to check Satyajit's use of rasa theory on his films.
