Namaste to all Devotees and all Bharatiya.

I just read this post on facebook.

Remembering Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrushnan.

Today is birthday of the second President of India, Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Academic philosopher, Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan born on 5th September 1888. He was first Vice President of India and 2nd Present of India.
In India we celebrate 5th September as Teachers Day.

You know, there's a story about Radhakrishnan in my family. Apparently I had a great grandfather who was a lawyer. In law school he took a course on inductive logic, taught by Dr. Radhakrishnan. Unfortunately he failed the first test, and Dr. Radhakrishnan told him something to the effect of "your poor performance on the exam is a disgrace to all Brahmins." I guess that motivated him to study harder, because he ended up making up for it by getting substantially higher marks on all the following exams.

Thanks IAmHindu. Yes, now i remember - 5th Sept was Teachers' Day. We would decorate the staff room and arrange for some snacks for the teachers.
