Dark Mother

Kali Maa--
Infinite Ocean of Existence.
I am immersed in Your Depth.
Whether I swim or drown,
Live or die,
I know bliss.
I love you, Dark Mother.

Court Jester

I am a court jester in the court of Kali.
When good things happen to me,
I thank my Queen profusely.
When bad things happen to me,
I thank my Queen profusely.
It is my joy to receive
Whatever She gives me.
Therefore,
I laugh with joy
At my own calamities
And She laughs with me;
I laugh with joy
At my myriad blessings
And She laughs with me.

All glory, praise, honor,
Thanks, adoration, and worship
Be to Queen Goddess Kali Maa
For all eternity!

Namaste ramprasad,

Thank you for sharing the poems; the themes of surrender and acceptance of Maa's Lila are represented well. Contemplating the second poem led me to this thought: in Western cultural tradition, the court jester holds an extremely important role- that of always being able to speak openly and truthfully about any subject, to whomever sits upon the throne, without fear of censure.

There have been many times where a lack of mindfulness on my part has led to Ego loudly proclaiming, "This Throne is mine! Bring me my Robe! Bring me my Crown! Bring me my Sceptre!"

At these times, Devi parts the veil in the manner of a jester: "At once, O Great Emperor, it shall be done at once!" Whereupon haughty Ego finds itself, and is seen by all, to be seated backwards upon a pig, naked, with a nest of hornets jammed over the eyes and ears, gripping the tail of a furious cobra...

All is Maa's Lila- for this I give thanks always :)
