Monday is for Shakambari Devi; my wish is for Her blessing on all who may have been suffering drought, whether it be of a material or spiritual nature- may your harvest be plentiful this 2012!

How beautiful, and thanks for the reminder. My mandir is doing a special puja for such and I'm sorry that I won't be able to attend.

Thank you for your kind words. Another name for Maa Shakambari is Shatakshi, meaning "She of the hundred (or innumerable) eyes". Her compassion for the sufferers of asurically-caused drought was said to be so great, it was Her tears that watered the land and ended the drought.
