" This will continue to be common place until the public becomes irate enough to insist that their legislators pass the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act and to make it so socially unacceptable to slaughter a horse that no slaughterhouses will dare to open in the U.S. It doesn't do any good to whine and shake our heads about it. We have to pick up the phone and call our legislators to put unrelenting pressure on them to bring an end to this insanity. "

A blogger said above in comments section of the post. Well there you go, is nt it stange how abrahamics get emotional with horses much more favorably than with cows which all their life (the latter) provide us with their milk. Why eat cows and why spare horses? At least the abrahamics must stop making fun of hindus

Not strange at all if you consider that it's cultural. Horses are viewed, like dogs and cats, as friends and pets. Cows, pigs and chickens are seen as utilitarian food items. 99% of the western world abhors the idea of eating dog or cat. A lesser but still substantial percentage abhors the idea of horse meat as food, but it's there in some quarters, obviously.
