Movie time.

Advaita enthusiasts, especially the beginners can gain insights into the life of tireless worker, Adi shankara. The Sanskrit dialogues (with English subtitles, somewhat imperfectly translated and severely truncated ones at that) in this old documentary makes it less enjoyable however. On a cautionary note, though most of the story resonates with the accepted history,a all shown may not reflect the truth; one needs to have a lot of time and a lot more patience to watch this slow movie. Namaste.

Oh no...Advaita has NO relevance with Jeebus/Bible. Advaita Vedanta is a pathway to nothing but Advaita and Hinduism. Please do not pollute the purity of Hindu Dharma with your missionary claptrap.

Please take your proselytization elsewhere. :(

Namaste,

I can agree wundermonk that Advaita does not have anything to do with Christianity, but I cannot help but see many similarities in the mystery traditions of Gnosticism and the mystery traditions that created the Christ myth (such as the mysteries of Mithras, Dionysus, and Osiris).

Om Namah Shivaya

mmm. that's right. It's not uncommon for me to get that sort reaction from those who've had run-ins with fundamentalists of varying plumage, and seeing that wundermonk just asked me:

What is a Christian non-dualist? The term appears self-contradictory.

It's complicated. This (http://www.members.shaw.ca/jgfriesen/) is a website which I find almost explains my position.

Judging by the first video in your playlist, it looks more like sentiment than truth. Isn't non-dualism supposed to be concerned with truth? Wondering at the stars is all fun and good, but I think such glossy-eyed concerns miss the real point of 'trekking' and mistake emotional glitter rather than anything permanent.

My take at least.

Hi Kismet,

Here is the same video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOzkEwaMnaE) again, but this time without as many images. The man speaking is Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson who is an American astrophysicist and science communicator. He is currently the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space, and a Research Associate in the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.

NB:
It is utterly important that we should be in this world, that we really fulfills our entelechia and if we succeed in completing our entelechia, that shoot will come up from the ground; namely, that possibility of a detachment
from this world - from the world of Maya
