Vannakkam: None. It is never a requirement. It might be recommended but I know of no festival where it is a requirement. I could be wrong though. There may be some sects that think in hard and fast (no pun intended) ways.

Hello Brias2018,following link gives you the fasting and observation in hinduism and mostly followed in bhakti/vaishnava path.you can get customized one by changing your locations.
Its ideal to fast on EKADASI full days,and night time in fullmoon and no-moon nights,lunar/solar eclipses etc.
