Indian World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand is currently meeting the
challenge of Israeli Grandmaster Boris Gelfand, in the famous Tretyakov
Gallery in Moscow.

I thought it was interesting that the World Champion (a Brahmin)
emerged onto the stage as the countdown clock reached 108 seconds:

Is any one else interested in chess which was a pastime of Sri Balaram?

Game 9 drawn.

Advantage Anand as he has White next.

Gitananda, if we go into tie breaker, Game 13, who plays white?

If tie-breaks are necessary, then on Wednesday May 30th they will have a new
drawing of colors before they begin. Here is the relevant section of the rules:

3. 7 Tie-breaks
3.7.1.a If the scores are level after the regular twelve (12) games, after a new drawing of colors, four (4) tie-break games shall be played. The games shall be played using the electronic clock starting with 25 minutes for each player with an increment of 10 seconds after each move http://moscow2012.fide.com/files/FWCM2012.pdf

Game 9 drawn.

Advantage Anand as he has White next.

Gitananda, if we go into tie breaker, Game 13, who plays white?

Update: After Israeli player fell sick, Narendra Modi happened to beat Vishvanath Anand to become world champion:

After a very strange game, Anand entered an endgame a pawn up,
and precisely when he had an advantage and Gelfand had 15 minutes for 18 moves, they drew!

I don't understand this behavior from the World Champion. He could have continued the game
for some time with little if any risk while Black would have all the pressure because of the
material and time deficit. In such a situation it would seem that Black would be more likely
to make a mistake than White. Big discussion here: http://www.chessvibes.com/reports/anand-gelfand-12th-match-game-drawn-tiebreak-on-wednesday
