"Don't be fooled, the maker is mischievous" - a poem

Namaste,

The world keeps revolving because as per Hindu thought, we are all having potentially inexhaustible amount of 'karma'.

Only factors like old age, sickness and such bring to many of us the 'dawn' of spirituality followed by good deeds.

Old age has the capacity to change the mentality of even a 'sinner' and make him wise, and benevolent.

Therefore, what if we began life in old age (somehow) and ended it as newly-born? Would our karmas during the course of life be minimally negative?

Would we then act differently such that, many of us will attain moksha rather quickly? Is this why, fearing such a thing should not happen, that the divine made man born young, be prone to sensuality and accrue 'karma' before reaching the wisdom-giving old-age? Karma that would cause rebirth many, many times vs. karma that will be exhausted too quickly...

யோசித்துப்பார்த்தேன்... ஒரு மாறுதலுக்காக...

I was thinking a new thought...


மனிதன் ஜனிப்பது வயோதிகத்தில்


If man was to be born in old age...


மரணிப்பது சிறு பிள்ளை பிராயத்தில் என்றானால்

And died when he was little, as a newborn


ஓடாது இந்த வாழ்க்கைப்படகு..

Then this cycle of birth and death cannot carry on as such...


ஜன்ம ஜென்மமாய் தொடரும் பயணம்

What takes place as a course of numerous births..


நிறைவடைந்துவிடும் இப்பிறவியிலேயே...

Will perhaps be over in one or just a few...


மூப்பு தரும் சோதனை, வேதனை...

Old age gives trials, tribulations and hardships..


தள்ளாட்டத்துடன் வரும் நீதி போதனை

There dawns the wisdom along with faltering steps...


அனைத்தும் அவனே என்ற யோசனை..

There dawns the notion that 'all is his deed'


வரும் இளமை நடுவயதில்...

Then will come the youth in middle age,


துளிர்க்கும் சமூக சேவை என்னும் உயர் நோக்கம்

And man will take to social causes perhaps...


வயோதிகம் தந்த பாடத்தில்..

With the lessons earned from old age before...


பரந்த சிந்தனையும், நிறைந்த நோக்கங்களும்

Broad-minded that he has become, the man will be full of lofty notions


உயர்ந்த தொண்டுகளும் தொடரும்

And serve many a suffering with his mighty deeds


முதியவயதில் வரும் பாலபிராயத்தில்

And then last will come the childhood, in this man's oldage


இறுதியில் வரும் மரணம்

And then followed by death as a tiny newborn


கொண்டு வரும் நான் வாழ்ந்தேன் எனும் செய்தி...

However, will bring the message that "He has lived"


என் கல்லறையில் கண்ணீர்துளிகள் பூக்காது

There will not blossom flowers of tears in my grave


ஆயின் பூக்கும் வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்ந்தேன்

But will blossom the message that could be cherished forever


எனும் உயரிய கொண்டாட்டம்...

That he lived life the best possible way...


இனி எனக்கு ஏது மறுபிறவி?

And then will he have any new rebirth? No!


இதை அறிந்தானே மறையவன், மாயன்

Thus knowing the maker, the mischief-monger

உலகம் உருண்டோட தேவை ஜனனம், புதிய ஜென்மம்,

Decided to make man 'young' as he needs plenty of rebirths


அதனாலேயே கொண்டு வந்தான்

Therefore the doer, the maker brought about to mankind...


இளமையில் ஜனனம், முதுமையில் மரணம்!

Birth while young, death as old!
