Held my first puja
Namaste
I just held my first puja.
It was very calming. I have a job interview and I am a little anxious, so I decided that today was a good day to put my money where my mouth is.
It wasn’t exactly what you’d call perfect. I only have a few pictures I printed. But I set up a small temple on a table. I went for a run, came back and had a shower. When I was clean I went to the temple space, bowed and greeted Ganapati. I then greeted and welcomed the Tridevi, each by name. I offered them water, incense and some food. I also got out the kumkuma I had made. We sat and I meditated on the day ahead without trying to impress my needs and wants on my guests.
My mantras at this stage are very very simplistic (Om Ganapataye Namaha), but it was all done with the upmost sincerity, which is a start.
Feels calm right now which is very welcome.

Re: Held my first puja
Namaste...
Very glad to hear this. :) Everyone does puja differently, to the best of their abilities. The pure intention, love and devotion is what matters. If you flub a prayer, spill oil or drop the incense, you can always ask for forgiveness. I envision God/dess smiling at the sincere and loving effort to please Him/Her, even if you unintentionally flub something. If you want to make a little more structured puja, check out this post http://hindudharmaforums.com/showthr...239#post130239
