Practices with Davantari?

Namaste,

I'm writing a Book on how to deal with Schizophrenia. I'm trying to include spiritual practices from different religions that one can do to help get spiritual healing. I have something for Christianity and Buddhism but not Hinduism. I'm aware of Davantari as a healer so I'm wondering what Puja or practice can one do to receive healing?

Jainarayan, I am glad to see that you have progressed to practicing Hinduism with a simple daily puja and not getting your head wrapped around the million nuances of the faith. :)

Tirisilex, first of all the correct name spelling is Dhanavantri. Second, he is considered to be the father of Ayurveda and a doctor to gods. When we are looking for spiritual healing, we don't chant a doctor's name. Why not meditate on the God Himself through chanting His name or through singing His praises with a bhajan? Just a thought.

Practicing the tenets as a simple bhakta results in making the best use of this life. Many of us, including the born Hindus, like to know about the identity of and utterances made by every player in the vast array of Hindu scriptures and then forget to practice what they taught. Living the life of a simple bhakta without distractions is the most peaceful and the most rewarding way to live.
