Hello everyone,

My whole family is Indian and Hindu, but I was raised in America. It has became a struggle for me to learn about my religion since my parents were unable to answer many of the questions I've asked. Although, I am still committed to Hinduism because my parents make many sacrifices and pray everyday for my brother and I. I'm thankful for who I am today, and I couldn't have done it without my parents. I hope to learn more and understand the purpose of certain things throughout this forum.

Hey our story is almost the same replace the religion with Islam but I am a Hindu at heart and love krsna.

Vannakkam Bigdreamer: Welcome to these forums. I believe that your story is fairly common. People often don't have ritual and practise explained to them. "This is the way we've always done it" doesn't work in America where one of the goals of the school system is to get kids to think for themselves. I hope that you are able to do some reading, and figure some of it all out for yourself.
