Thread: Namaste to all....

    Namaste to all....

    Namaste,

my name is Sanja and I live in Germany.
For many years I've been looking for answers to many questions I had since I was a child.

I started with reading the bible and going to christian church but I found out that all I experienced was only shallow and I longed for deeper understanding. That was about 20 years ago.

There were a few really amazing "coincidences" that brought Krishna into my life. I started singing Mantras and very soon I felt a deep peace and love in myself that made me understand in a deeper way. I don't know if I am able to explain this in a way that people know what I'm feeling, but the answers I got from Krishna were beyond intellectual understanding. It seemed to me that I don't have to know with my mind because my mind never reaches my true self.

It's really important for me to be here and learn from you all.

    Love and blessings, Sanja

    Welcome to the forum.

For most people, this "feeling" is the culmination of "intellectual understanding". You seem to be way ahead of others in your sadhana.

Best wishes for your continued ascent.

    Pranam.

    Welcome.

It seemed to me that I don't have to know with my mind because my mind never reaches my true self.
However, it is still important to not let the mind grasping on to false notions. Hence in the Indian traditions pursuit of knowledge and shastra [doesn't necessarily mean memorizing old books in an arcane language] is held in the highest regard.

Thank you so much for starting your post with namasté. It is inviting and brings the reader into your 1st post.

Re: your name: sanja... let's take a look. We write it like this -

sañja = saṃja, and is defined as 'universal Creator' another name for brahmā or śiva . Based upon your picture I will assume you are female. I mention this because sañja (saṃja) is the male spelling. To make it female we write it as saṃjā¹ and perhaps to your liking as sañjā.

The name saṃjā is a compound word saṃ + jā
    • saṃ = sam = all together, collectively; union , thoroughness completeness and hence the notion of 'universal'
    • is rooted in jan and this means to come into existence , to generate , produce, to grow, - so we can see 'create' from this word.
Welcome to our forum... we look forward to your posts and insights.

    1. संजा is the sanskrit form for saṃjā; ञ्जा is the sanskrit form for sañjā

Thank you all for your warm welcome!

    yajvan:
What a nice information about the name, thank you.
I didn't know that. Sanja is the name my mother gave me, she's from Serbia. In Serbian it means "the one who dreams". It really touches me that there is name like mine in sanskrit. :-)

i think it is actually pronounced as SANYA
