    (Re)-introduction.

    Namasté, all.

This is just a quick note that I have changed my handle here, from Indraneela to Arjunī. The latter is my Hindu (first) name and the name I use everywhere else online - but most importantly, anyone using the HDF search function to look up "Indra" will no longer have to sift through a long list of my posts to find relevant information.

    Re: (Re)-introduction.

    Namasté,

Arjunesh: It is a good name to choose! Of course, I am a little biased...

Charitra: While the word arjunī appears in the Veda Saṁhitā and Brāhmaṇa texts also, the answer to your question -

has it got anything to do with arjuna

is yes, by way of the Padma Purāṇa, in which Arjuna transforms into the gopi Arjunī. You can read a long but very beautiful explanation of the story here, if you're interested.

ShivaFan: Yes, I am a woman. But it seems fitting to have a name that appears in a story of gender transformation, as you are certainly not the first person to mistake me for a man!
I can't remember the source now, but a while back I read a beautiful explanation of arjuna sigifying the bright, clear light of a receptive mind, and how Arjuna himself is able to receive the Supreme Truth because of this state of clarity, openness, and surrender.
