Within sanātana dharma we have checks and balances... When the guru-s (gurú) words perfectly align to the śāstra-s and to our direct personal experience we have a confidence level of 100% in its accuracy. It is like looking at a trangle that is perfectly balanced and firm ( sthiti ) on all sides. Yet if one of the legs of the triangle is lacking, then doubt may creep in. One needs to consider these 3 legs.

For me, I cannot recall a time where I had doubts of what I heard from my teacher, yet still had a lack of the experience therein. Yet I found his words uplifting and nourshing. And I found his words within the śāstra-s.

Doubt (śaṅkā¹) can be two fold...it can stop one in their tracks, or it can motivate one to find out more about this doubt. For me, it has compelled my studies again and again.
