Name the Goddess (if you can)

    Namaste
    CONTEST! Name this Goddess Devi:

Hints – This Murthi is from Nepal. You are in “The Town of Devotees”. If you are viewing Her, you are standing at the Mul Chowk next to the entrance of the Degu Taleju Temple. She is on a Tortoise. Another clue! On the internet you will find the incorrect answer in abundance, where the un-wise make the mistake that “One Who stands on the Tortoise is called the Other Who stands near Her”. If you go there, you may be told that the One is the Other, and the Other is the One, because they want to fool you upon the “Orders of the Goddess”. Good Luck – I will give you the answer in 2 days if no one discovers.

    Interesting guess, but not correct.

Two Devis stand side by side to the Door.

    Vannakkam ShivaFan,

Could She be Mother Ganga or Mother Yamuna?

    Either one.

    Namaste Equinox

You have the CORRECT but not specific answer.

Yes, on one side stands Ganga and the other stands Yamuna, to each side of the door of the Temple. They look almost the same. One is often mistakenly called the other.

But this Devi stands on Her Kurma, the turtle or tortoise.

    Who is She?

She's Mother Yamuna. I know that Mother Ganga stands on Her Makara. So this has to be Mother Yamuna!

Equinox and McKitty are correct! All Glories to the members of HDF who love the Devas and Devi!

And you pass into the door of the Temple between Both Ganga and Yamuna, for in All The Land between these Two is Found the Devi!

I bow to Gauri Maa! "I am your slave, Gauri!".
