    A Dragon at the Gates

China setting up now a full fledged camp site [not a camp] 20km inside [not 10Km anymore] Indian territory. Personally I think they can simply come to Leh and declare entire Ladakh Chinese....toothless and ball less UPA 2 will keep searching for diplomatic solutions even then.

Japan did not take Chinese aggression lying down, but India is giving the dragons the confidence they need to contemplate wars and regional domination through military strength.

I believe bigger problems with China are on the cards sooner than later however. The new Chinese leadership seems to be testing grounds and one never knows when they/he loose(s) the sense of control completely and starts thinking that they can rule the world or declare unilateral wars. For us Indians, nobody cares about our sovereignty. If a Bangladesh doesn't give a damn about our borders, what to say of China?

Had Kashmir been geographically above Ladakh, I would be happier now. But it is not a good feeling to see China threatening Ladakh and bullying our nation.

Things are looking ominous for India now...hopefully there is light at tge end of the tunnel.

    Vanakkam...

First Tibet, then Africa, then Japan, now India ?

I hope your leaders won't keep silent at this. Either China conquer what it wants with force, either with money...

    This is not good...

The essential idea it appears is to probe the Indians closely to get a feel for how weak they really are, and follow it up with a land-grab. Extent of the land-grab they are intending would depend on how deep their probe sinks into the Hindu defenses.
I think exactly the same as outlined by the blogger. I will be surprised if China sits tight with 20KM only when entire Ladakh and Leh is up for grabs.

    Namaste,

After the Hindi-Chini bhai bhai slogan floated by Nehru, they waged a war and grabbed lot of Indian land at the end of the 1962 war, then Pakis gifted them a large chunk of Kashmiri land under their control, and now they are flexing their muscles again to annex some more Indian land. The wealth that they have accumulated over the past few decades has given them lot of clout in the international arena. It would be interesting to see how India pushes back their aggression this time.

Since geopolitics is ever black and white the above gurdian article is important to be noted. Subramaniam swamy expressesthis view i.e it is not the current chinese govt but a third vested interest behind the situations. In such cases low key response frlm india may not be unwarrented.

Re: A Dragon at the Gates

this was as predicted by new year.
The name of the Vikrami Samvat - 2070 which starts from 11th April 2013 is ‘Prabhava’. The new Vikrami Samvat each year starts from the 1st lunar date of the Lunar month of Chaitra. This year it falls on the 11th of April 2013.Predicting General Results of the Vikrami Samvat - 2070 …

The scriptures give the general result of each Samvat through Shlokas (Verses). The following verse is about the Prabhava Samvat:

    पार्थिवैर्मण्ड ले शैश्च सामप्न्तेर्दण्ड नायके:।
    क्षुत्पिपासा तुरा लोका: पीडूयन्ते वै पराभवै।।

As per the above verse during the Prabhava Samvat people in general may suffer due to actions taken by the authorities.

There may be scarcity of eatables and potable water. There will be danger of fires, weapons, diseases and wars with enemies. Terrorist activities, natural calamities and accidents may be prominent in the news.

    Some alternate view on china-http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/201...r-of-1962.html

"THEY" want to keep India's defense budget engaged on Army and Air force by triggering problems on our land borders, out of which 80% just need to be lightly guarded by BSF due to natural fence of Himalaya. "THEY" fear that if our land border issues are settled or made in control, we will divert all the defense budget to Navy (Where, according to him, 80% of Defense should go) and build larger Navy than USN in just 15 years resulting in absolute control and dominance over Indian Ocean. "THEY" want to avoid this thing at "ALL THE COST".
When the British left India in 1947, they put 2 Islamic buffers on either side of the Himalayas to prevent communist nuclear submarine access to the blue all weather Indian ocean. Communism and Islam are like oil and water, they can come together for a while, but after sometime they get polarized and drift apart naturally.
tomorrow if china keeps nuclear submarines in sri lanka -- they are cosying up with them -- USA will lose their grip on this planet.

india should have built a nuclear submarine fleet of 20 submarines , and 6 nuclear aircraft carriers by now. after that nobody will mess with india. we need to go for clean thorium.
