    8th house

I am new to the study of astrology. Why is 8th house bad? And if 8th Lord (Mars) is in 2nd- aspecting own house- is that also bad as will a graha harm it's own house? Thankyou.

    Re: 8th house

    Om Tat Sat,

8th house stands For: Disgrace, degradation, sorrows, debts, death & its cause, impediments, longevity, legacies, gifts, unearned or hidden wealth, defeat, urinary trouble, punishment from govt., fear, loss of money from debts, hidden wealth, mangalaya (for ladies), accidents, delays, dejection, disappointments, loss, obstructions, intense mental worry, wickedness, sin, killing a living being, wanderings, trouble to partners & brothers, mystery, occult sciences, travels.

Mainly it denotes sudden changes & transistion in a persons life. In some cases the though the transition may not be helpful as it happends it will be for good in the long run.

    Thanks
    Krishna

    Namaste Dina,

Death and taxes; if you believe in reincarnation, equality and kindness; what could possibly be bad about it?

The 8th Bhāva sustains the 7th, or, it brings it to an end ... ... ...

In fact, Mangal has a low drṣṭi upon the 7th
Bhāva from himself; his vision is much stronger upon the 4th and the 8th Bhāva from his position. Mangal in Lagna has a stronger effect upon the 8th Bhāva. You see, when Mangal is opposite to his own rāśi, say in Vṛṣabha, he is in a neutral house, where as if he is found in Meśa, he is in his Mulatrikona, his place of work; From where Vṛścika is in his 8th aspect ...
In Makara from where he is exalted he has 4th
    drṣṭi upon Meśa.

Mangala in 2nd rāśi has full graha drṣṭi upon the 5th and 9th from Lagna.

    Kind regards.

    Bhāva - house
    Mangal - Mars
    drṣṭi - aspect
    rasi - sign
    Lagna - ascendant
    Vṛṣabha - Taurus
    Meśa - Aries
    Vṛścika - Scorpio

    Hello All

Strange, 8th house stands for both Sin and spirituality? If a soul has a sin,how can he spiritually evolve?

Is that mean ,physical body will suffer for the sins while doing poojas, japas will make his soul to be more spirtually inclined in same birth?

Please consider this... the 8th house and the 8th therefrom ( the 3rd house) are places of longevity. Then the 12th house from these positions ( the 7th house and 2nd house) show the loss of longevity.

For me, I am quite a fan of the 8th house (and loss), and its ārūḍha of the 8th ( AL of the 8th is called A8 or the mṛtyupāda). Who else may revel in the 8th house indications ? The aghora.

    Namaste Yajvan,

Ah yes of course 12th from 3rd and 12th from 8th; I had not made that connection in thought.

Might we consider 12th from the 8th to be somewhat muckier than 12th from the 3rd. In the sense of that which is honorable and that which need be concealed?

Oh, is the A8 symbolic of Aghora I have read only a little, but I have heard some gruesome tales; I have also heard that it can indicate illness.
    Fascinating, it really is fascinating.

    Thank you kindly.
