Hope that is purely a personal opinion and not based on some scriptural injunction!

It is the interpretation of scriptures to validate one's personal opinion that is the joke. Scriptures are never a joke and and the commentaries given by acharyas are always welcome and enlightening.

Besides, if a person does not entertain other people's personal opinions, he should refrain from dumping his in the forum.

PS Sorry Viraja, the thread is going off in a tangential direction.

Vannakkam: Can anyone recommend good on-line reasonably priced clothing stores, for both men and women. Sometimes newcomers to our faith would have no idea where to get Hindu attire, let lone where it. But on-line ordering would solve all that.

Some misguided souls think that a Hinduism forum should be focused on the opinions of Hindu shAstras. Crazy, I know.

Eventually, when we drive those people out, we can hopefully have the kind of forum we need to have, where everyone's opinion is just as important as everyone else's, and facts and evidence are deemed as just one among many, equally valid opinions.

    Hari Om

    Namaste to all

Think your question is good idea JaiJi. Please give me couple days and will post a couple of stores. Perhaps this will elicit comment from others who have better stores and this will be of some help to all and maybe in small way help with issue OP and you bring up.

Philosoraptor, if point is taken correctly from here, and sense, even with the humor present, is this a zero sum proposition? Is this the mission of Satay's Seva? This is not the streets, but a cyber, keyboard, thing (and much more for sure) with many Jivas coming through. Meaning most respectfully, is this the best approach?

I don't understand your question. Is "what" the best approach?

    Namaste.

Lighten up a little please guys.

Even I could see that Believer was making fun of Philosoraptor's signature.

Philosoraptor is always 'oh so serious' all of the time, so when Believer said that, it was like he was only chiding him in a friendly, brotherly way.

We are like a 'family' on here and some days, somebody gonna cop a face full of mashed potato.

What do you do? do you say 'you shouldn't throw mashed potato at your brother'? or do you sit back and laugh...getting the joke, no matter what bad taste it was in?

Often though, prior banter between parties may be missed, so when somebody makes a joke, only those privy to the prior conversation will get it.
