    Jai Shree Krishna
Rig Veda list only 33 devas, they are all propitiated, worthy off our worship, all other names of gods are derivative from this 33 originals,
Bhagvat Gita; Shree Krishna says Chapter 3.11 devan bhavayatanena te deva bhavayantu vah parasparam bhavayantah sreyah param avapsyatha Chapter 17.4 yajante sattvika devan yaksa-raksamsi rajasah pretan bhuta-ganams canye yajante tamasa janah
The world disappears in him. He is the peaceful, the good, the one without a second.

Wishing all HDF members a happy Janmastami as well!

A slight difference in practices. Wednesday would be Asthami while Thursday, Rohini. Since Krishna was born on Ashtami Rohini, some celebrate on Wednesday while others on Thursday. SriVaishnavas fall on Thursday category... Wish there were much more Janmasthami

    Jai Sri Krishna!

    Jai Sri Krishna!
Happy Sri Krishna Janmashthami to all!

Usually Sri Vaishnava Janmashthami comes several weeks later, owing to a difference of opinion regarding the astrological calculation. This is one of the first years in recent times that they are back to back. I plan to take both days off from work and go to temples on both days. I still have not figured out whether I should fast on both days.... :-()

    Namaste.

For this holy night, I worship and pray to beloved Lord Krishna, my Guru and my Guide. Without His blessing and Grace, none of this could have even thought to be possible!

My heart would have been His if Lord Shiva hadn't stolen it.

Wow. All these many messages for that Lotus-Eyed dark-skinned transcendental midnight Theif?
He should be here any moment...
stay indoors, lock all doors, shut the windows,
because you cannot even trust His loving glance
that puts you in a trance
good for Him, He takes the chance
to steal you in one instance...

Namaste and Happy Janmashtami! Above is from a local temple I plan on attending today after work.

Shri Krishna accepts all and welcomes those in this celebration!
